Abstract
1,141,721. Coaxial cables. GENERAL CABLE CORP. 16 Feb., 1966 [25 March, 1965], No. 6765/66. Heading H1A. Simultaneous transmission of high and low frequency signals is provided for in a single cable comprising, in combination, an inner common return conductor 16 surrounded by an extruded wall of insulation 14 and a continuous metallic sheath 11 serving as an outer conductor which coaxial pair constitute the high frequency circuit, and one or more further insulated conductors 13 disposed within sheath 11 either at the surface of or near the periphery of the insulation 14 which together with common return conductor 16 form the low frequency circuit. The outer conductor of the coaxial pair may be corrugated, Fig. 4 (not shown). Capacitors connected between the conductors 11, 16 prevent low frequency signals interfering with the high frequency signals, and transformers connected between the conductors 13, 16 prevent high frequency leakage into the low frequency circuits.
