[Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] A cable for use with wireless receivers, transmitters or similar apparatus, comprises a main conductor and an auxiliary conductor in the form of a helix coaxially arranged with respect to the main conductor, the auxiliary conductor being electrically connected at its two ends to the main conductor but otherwise insulated therefrom, the electrical length of the auxiliary conductor exceeding that of the main conductor between the points of connection by an odd integral multiple of one half the wavelength of a high radio frequency signal or disturbance to be attenuated ; alternatively, the auxiliary conductor may be connected to the main conductor at one end only, in which case its electrical length exceeds that of the part of the main conductor over which it extends by an odd integral multiple of one quarter of the wavelength of the signal or disturbance to be attenuated. The main conductor may be the inner or outer conductor of a concentric cable or one of the conductors of a multi-conductor cable. A plurality of auxiliary conductors may be employed of such relative electrical lengths that they attenuate signals of the same or different frequencies.
