Abstract

1,250,430. Coaxial cables. B. KLOSTERMARK. 28 Aug., 1969 [22 Oct., 1968], No. 42950/69. Heading H1A. [Also in Division H2] A coaxial cable has alternate rigid sections 1 of equal length connected by joints 3 to flexible sections 2, which are relatively short, so that the cable can be folded up for transport (Fig. 4, not shown). The construction is stated to be suitable for cables of low attenuation and constant impedance throughout. A rigid section has an outer conductor 5 of copper tube and an inner conductor 4 of copper tube or rod. A flexible section has a braided or taped outer conductor 10 and a stranded inner conductor 9. The main cable insulation may be solid or provided by washers 6, 13 with the inner connection 14 insulated by a moulded or split body 24. Inner and outer conductors respectively of the different sections are connected to each other at joints 3 (see Div. H2) and the cable completed by a continuous jacket 17 of P.V.C. or rubber.
