Abstract
635,763. Wave-guides. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO., Inc. Aug. 28, 1946, No. 25865. Convention date, Sept. 1, 1945. [Class 40 (viii)] A coaxial line to waveguide coupling comprises a flared coupling 17 between the outer conductor 23 of the line and the wall of the guide 13, and an enlarged extension 27 of the inner conductor 25 projecting into the guide. The enlargement 27 of the inner conductor is preferably spherical, and is spaced from the side wall of the guide opposite the flared coupling 17. Two wave-guides may be coupled together through a coaxial line having flared couplings between each end of the outer conductor and the walls of each guide, and enlarged elements at each end of the inner conductor. A rotatable joint may be provided between two portions of the outer conductor of the coaxial line, or between the outer conductor and one or both of the wave-guides.
