Abstract
641,474. Aerial coupling arrangements; radio signalling; aerials. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. June 17, 1947, No. 15989. Convention date, July 31, 1946. [Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vii)] Radio signals are propagated through the length of a tunnel by means of an unbalanced' transmission line coupled to an aerial at each end of the tunnel. The conductor 10 and the earthed screen of spaced parallel conductors 12 secured to the ceiling of the tunnel 16 from the transmission line which is terminated at one or both ends in a rhombic aerial, Fig. 3 (not shown), matched to the line. The aerial of a train in the tunnel is shown at 13.
