1,096,156. Cable glands. J. R. W. MAC OLIVE. Sept. 14, 1966 [Sept. 15, 1965], No. 41034/66. Heading H2E. The wire armouring 13 of a cable is held between the tapered surfaces of gland nut 6 and bush 4 when cap nut 12 engages the threads of the gland nut and shoulder 2 of spigot 1. Threads 3 on the spigot may be used to secure the gland to a junction box. A flexible (rubber) boot 11 excludes water and the bush 4 need not be integral with the spigot. The gland may be made from brass and then tin plated.
