Abstract
A steel comprises:- .C.0.05-0.2% .Ni.8-10% .Mo.0.5-2.5% .Co.3-5% .Mn.0.25% max .Si.0.2% max .Al.0.1% max .S.0.1% max .P.0.1% max the balance, apart from impurities, being iron. The steel may be austenetized at 1500-1700 DEG F., quenched in oil to develop a martensitic structure or in air to develop a bainitic structure and optionally aged at 800-1000 DEG F.
