Abstract
A corrosion-resistant cold-rolled steel sheet has the composition .C.less than 0.01%, .Si.less than 0.08%, .Mn.0.2-0.5%, .P.0.05-0.12%, .Cu.0.2-0.6%, .free N.less than 0.001%, and .with or without Al.0.01-0.08%, .and/or V.up to 0.1%, .and/or B.up to 0.01%, .and/or As.up to 0.05%, with balance Fe and unavoidable impurities such as S, Ni, Cr and Sn. Initially, the steel sheet may have higher C and N contents, e.g. 0.08% C and 0.0019% N, the sheet being subsequently decarburized and denitrided in open coil in an annealing furnace e.g. at 700 DEG C. using a wet atmosphere consisting of more than 70% hydrogen, remainder nitrogen.
