Abstract

1,084,409. Gas burners. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. Aug. 16, 1966 [Aug. 20, 1965], No. 36568/66. Heading F4T. A grid-shaped burner comprises a distributer pipe 11 traversed by a series of burner tubes 10, and a gas connection 14 in the form of a carrier insert soldered in a recess 13 in the middle of pipe 11, the carrier resembling an inverted oval bowl, with its major axis transverse to pipe 11, and closed by a plate 17, the carrier receiving gas from a coupling piece (18), Fig. 1 (not shown), mounted anywhere within plate 17. Interchangeable injector nozzles 19 are screwed into the side walls of a gas distribution chamber 141 within the carrier and injector pipes 20 are screwed into side walls of air chambers 144 within the carrier. The injector pipes 20 are inserted through the distributer pipes' detachable end screw caps 12. A projecting arm (25) of the carrier outside of the distributer pipe may be used to mount a pilot burner (26), safety thermo element (28) and a sparking plug (29). In the arrangement of Fig. 3 (not shown), a bi-metallic spring (35) mounted on arm (25) in the region of the pilot burner actuates a gas valve (30), mounted in the gas coupling piece (18). An actuating pin (33) for the valve passes through a thickened wall portion (24) of the carrier outside of the distribution pipe.
