Abstract

1334003 Gas or liquid fuel fired water heaters IMPERIAL METAL INDUSTRIES (KYNOCH) Ltd 27 June 1972 [5 May 1971] 13189/71 Heading F4A A gas or liquid fuel fired water heater comprises a casing 10, which defines a combustion chamber 11 containing finned water tubes at 12, and a mounting plate 17 secured over an aperture in the casing; the plate having means for mounting a fuel (in the embodiment shown, gas) injector 27 on one side and a burner tube 22 on the other with an aperture between the two to allow the passage of fuel. The plate also has provision for the mounting of a pilot jet 32 and a flame failure safety device, of which a mercury bulb is shown at 45. The gas injector and an auxiliary gas nozzle 44 of the safety device are connected to a gas supply control valve 46. The plate with its attached fittings may be removed for ease of servicing or for the fitting of a replacement unit.
