Abstract

1,148,749. Gas burners. A. O. SMITH CORP. 23 June, 1966 [23 June, 1965], No. 28229/66. Heading F4T. A gas burner 10 for a water heater (1) has a cup-shaped body 27 with primary air holes 29 and a flange 30, and a burner head 32 with circumferentially spaced ribs 33 corresponding to similarly spaced recesses (31) in flange 30, spaces 34 between adjacent ribs forming gas outlet ports. Gas is supplied via a tube 13, connected to the burner by a fitting 20 having lugs 24 which engage recesses (25) in the burner body 27 and a pilot 17 and thermocoupled 18 are mounted on the tube by means of a bracket 19.
