Abstract
1,215,639. Burners. HALLER - MEURERWERKE A.G. 1 Nov., 1968 [3 Nov., 1967], No. No. 51890/68. Heading F4T. A universal gas burner 1, i.e. one in which a gas supply nozzle's changed or adjusted for different gas types while retaining the burner nozzle, comprises a mixer housing 3 which receives air from a pipe 4 and gas from a supply nozzle and associated tube 7 and delivers them to a burner tube 2, and is characterized in that air flow through the tube 4 past a stationary restriction member 9 is controlled by a bimetal strip 10 attached thereto. As shown, fresh air is supplied to pipe 4 from a duct 5 in a wall 6 and combustion products removed by a tube 8. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, the restriction member 19 has a cross-sectional area equal to that of the pipe 4 and has holes 19<SP>1</SP> paths covered by a bimetal strip 20 which is secured at one end to the member 19. Other holes 19<SP>11</SP> may be left always open. In another embodiment, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), the restriction member 29 is smaller than the tube and defines a passage therewith which is partly closed by a bimetal strip 30.
