Abstract

1,042,070. Windows; window blinds. A. ROCCO and G. S. SCHWEITZER. Nov. 5, 1963 [Nov. 5, 1962], No. 43665/63. Heading E1J. In a window a sash for a transparent pane is positioned obliquely to the vertical plane of the supporting structure and has at least one end sash between the first sash and the supporting structure. A channel section frame 28, 30, 32 extends within a window opening 18 having a triangular section sill 34a projecting within the building. The frame supports a trapezoidal framework 56, 60, 66, 68 which may be glazed or have an inner sash 156, 158 hinged thereto; the framework sloping inwards into the building. The triangular openings formed between the ends of the trapezoidal framework and the channel frame are closed with glazed sashes comprising T-section members 96, 98, 100 glazed at 94 and hinged along the vertical sides to the frame members 30, 32. A screen 105 may be fitted with the triangular openings to prevent the passage of insects. Horizontal bars secured to the frame 58 by spring-loaded bayonet type catches 210 (Fig. 13) provide support for rings 238 supporting concertina blinds 204 of translucent plastic having end catches 250 with spring-loaded hooks engaging the horizontal bars.
