Abstract

916,420. Double casement windows; ventilators. GRETSCH-UNITAS G.m.b.H. Feb. 27, 1961 [March 12, 1960], No. 7075/61. Classes 20 (3) and 137. A double window comprises inner and outer casements 1, 3 hinged together by pins 2 and sockets 4. The upper part of inner casement 1 is provided with a slide ventilator, including slides 6, and a guide frame 5, which is fastened in the window rebate 1<SP>1</SP> and secured at its bottom edge to a horizontal section rail 9 which also receives the upper edge of glass pane 8. The upper part of the outer casement 2, between its head rail and a horizontal section rail 15, which receives the upper edge of glass pane 17, is provided with weather guard fins 11, 12. The air space formed between the glass panes when the windows are secured together is enclosed by a web 9<SP>1</SP> of section rail 9 which extends outwards and engages rail 15. This junction may be sealed.
