Abstract
1,205,069. Ventilators. GARDINER ARCHITECTURAL ENG. Ltd. 21 Oct., 1969 [21 Oct., 1968], No. 49898/68. Heading F4V. A ventilator to be fitted between the edge of a window pane, or other panel, and a frame mounting the pane or panel comprises a rigid extrusion having on one edge a channel to engage the pane or panel and on the other edge a tongue for engagement in the frame, the ventilator being pierced with one or more apertures. The extrusion may be of aluminium or polyvinylchloride. If the window has double glazing the ventilator will have two channels along one edge and two tongues on the other edge. A resilient material 24 is provided between the extrusion and the frame or panel. Alternatively putty may be used if the frame is of wood. A second extrusion 30 which may also be of polyvinylchloride and has a handle acts as a sliding cover or the apertures. Portions 34 on the extrusion 30 engage between vanes 28 on the ventilator.
