Abstract

1,034,276. Double glazing. M. M. FREEDLAND. Feb. 8, 1965 [April 14, 1964; April 18, 1964], No. 15303/64 and 16156/64. Heading E1R. A single glazed window 22 is converted to a double glazed window by means of an extruded polyvinyl chloride polystyrene &c. strip of channel section, one limb 11 of which in its free condition is curved and is so shaped that a seal is provided between the stripping and casement or sash when the stripping is mounted on the casement or sash, the other limb 12 being tapered from a maximum thickness at its root to a minimum thickness at its free edge and is curved towards the limb 11 and of a height greater than limb 11 so that the free end overhangs the free edge of limb 11. The inner surface of limb 11 has a smaller radius of curvature than the outer surface or vice versa. Eyeletted holes 33 may be provided on the side, as shown, or in the base for cheesehead screws 35 upon the heads of which the ' frame 23 may rest.
