Abstract
817,526. Windows. PERSSON, S. E. Sept. 18, 1957 [Sept. 18, 1956], No. 29413/57. Class 20(3) In a window having a sash or coupled sashes 1, 2 comprising metal sections, which extend one piece along at least three edges of the window panes, and containing three spaced panes 7, 8, 9, the space 11 between the panes 8, 9, being the larger, the inner pane and middle pane have their edges inserted into grooves 12, 14 respectively, denned by side portions 15, 16, 19 rigidly interconnected, preferably integrally, the portions 15 and 16 being adapted to receive packing 17, e.g. by having faces 18 set obliquely to the panes 7 .and 8 respectively and the portion 19 preferably carrying packing 20. To couple the sashes, the part 4 of the sash 2 is hooked round a flange 6 on the sash 1, a tightening fillet 5 being placed between the sashes. The outer pane 9 is located in a groove 21, the inner face of the portion 22 being set obliquely to the pane 9 to reeive packing 23, the portion 24 being grooved to receive packing 25. In a modification, the middle pane 8 extends only part way up the sash and may be displaceable vertically; to shield the sun the pane may be formed of tinted translucent material. A roller or Venetian blind may be suspended from the part 13 in the space 11.
