Abstract
739,428. Windows. PERSSON, E. S. Feb. 10, 1954 [Feb. 17, 1953], No. 3957/54. Class 20 (3). VVindows having three panes 6<SP>1</SP>, 7<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP> in the same sash 19 are glazed by providing the middle one 7<SP>1</SP> around its edge with an air-tight border 91 having side flanges which, after mounting the panes, bear against the surfaces, facing each other, of the outer and inner panes. As shown, the wooden sash 19 has a metallic covering 20 fixed thereto by a flange 21, the covering 20 having a drip strip 22 and a flange 23 against which pane 6<SP>1</SP> bears. After placing pane 6<SP>1</SP> in position, pane 7<SP>1</SP> complete with border 91, which may be natural or synthetic rubber, is positioned with the border 9<SP>1</SP> contacting pane 61 and pane 8<SP>1</SP> is then positioned and held by a wooden border 24. The border 91 has a downturned edge flange bearing against pane 81. The window may be fixed or as shown the sash 19 may pivot in a fixed frame 16 which has a metal covering 17 providing an abutment 18 for the moving sash and border 24 has an outer edge 25 which in the closed position bears against the frame 16. The flanges 18, 23 and border 24 may have sealing strips such as 10, 12.
