Abstract
814,281. Curtain walling; window frames; glazing. W. B. CASEMENT & ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. June 7, 1955 [June 8, 1954], No. 16699/54. Classes 20(3) and 20(4) A building has one or more curtain wallings wherein the vertical bars 6 (Fig. 2) intermediate the ends of the wallings have a rectangular-sectioned body with a flange 12 projecting inwardly of the building, the free end of the flange having shoulders 14 and a marginal edge of a glass panel 8, an opaque panel 9 (Fig. 4) or a window frame 10 being accommodated between the shoulders 14 and the face of the rectangular sectioned body on either side of the flange 12. Vertical end members 2 (Fig. 2) and tie bars 6 are joined together by a system of horizontal bars 3 (Fig. 3) disposed at predetermined distances between head members 5 (Figs. 3 and 4) and sill members 4 (Fig. 4). Each of the vertical bars may be of a length equal to the distance between two adjacent floors and be anchored thereto at each of its ends. The glass panes 8 are secured in position by angle bars 36 or by bars of channel or top-hat section.
