Abstract
1,016,587. Spray-producers. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. June 28, 1963 [June 29, 1962 ; Dec. 20, 1962], No. 25853/63. Addition to 994,645. Heading B2F. [Also in Division G2] An apparatus for developing electrostatic images has an atomizer electrode in the form of a hollow cylinder with a sharp edge and is associated with a grid electrode to which atomized liquid is attracted as an aerosol, from the atomizer electrode. A cylindrical atomizing electrode 1, with a funnel-shaped end 2, has a return flow tube 3 movable axially of the electrode to vary the quantity of liquid within the electrode 1. Liquid is fed, by a pump 6, to a space 4 around the tube 3 from a tank 8. Liquid is returned to the tank 8 from the tube 3 by a pump 7. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a worm 9 is secured to tube 3 and extends into tank 10. A worm 12 and worm 13 rotates a cylindrical electrode 1, thus feeding liquid from the tank 10 to spray edge 2. Several electrodes may be connected to a common tank 10, Fig. 3 (not shown), and the tank and electrodes are periodically reciprocated to improve the distribution of aerosol.
