Abstract

930,282. Electrostatic precipitator. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A.G. Nov. 27, 1961 [Dec. 22, 1960], No. 42347/61. Class 117. In an electrostatic precipitator wherein the H.T. feeder 5 enters the precipitator casing 14 through an insulator 1 supported in a chamber 3 which projects into the casing and has a protector tube 4 secured to its bottom end, the protector tube is formed with an internal annular liquid reservoir tank 8 of triangular section from which project nozzles 9 directed obliquely downwardly towards the feeder 5 to direct flushing liquid 17 on to the feeder at the entrance to the tube 4 to remove any accumulation 16 of dust therefrom. The tank 8 may be supplied from the feed pipe 11 supplying electrode flushing nozzles 12 so that the nozzles 9 operate simultaneously with the nozzles 12. As shown in Fig. 2, the tube 4 and tank 8 are split longitudinally of the tube to facilitate its removal without disturbing the connection 20 of the feeder 5 with the discharge electrode frame 6, the split being normally covered by a detachable plate 21.
