Abstract

1,006,765. Trouser waistbands. S. SIMPSON Ltd. Sept. 16, 1964 [May 25, 1964], No. 21527/64. Heading A3V. The outer surface of a waistband of a pair of trousers is formed with four tunnels through which passes freely a waist belt comprising a rear part joined to two front parts by tabs attached to the belt by wide strips of elastic, the tabs having buttons and buttonhole fastenings, the elastic strips lying within the tunnels and the ends of the belt being secured by means such as a hook and eye. The belt which passes through tunnel 20 comprises a rear portion 10 connected to two front portions 11 by tabs secured to the belt by strips of elastic and fastened together by buttons and buttonholes, 17, 18. Strips attached to the inner sides of the tabs interconnect them and retain the belt in position when the tabs are unfastened. The belt is guided at the rear by a tab 21 engaging a button on the belt and at the front by a tab or loop 25 attached to the front of the waistband and engaging a button 27 on the inside of the bert. Friction pads 29 are attached to the lining of the band.
