Abstract

499,170. Trousers. SIMPSON, Ltd., S., and KLEIN, S. April 5, 1938, No. 10415. [Class 141] In a pair of trousers suitable for ladies' wear, the front half 1 of the waistband is formed at each side with tabs 2 provided with buttons 3 for engagement with buttonholed tabs 5 at the ends of a strip 4 of elastic webbing extending through a tunnel or loops on the rear half of the waistband, the trousers being provided with an opening 10 extending down one or both sides thereof, and closed by a sliding-clasp fastener 11. The strip 4 is preferably stitched to the middle of the rear of the waistband. Seams 12 are provided at each side of the opening 10 to conceal the fastener 11, and an interior flap 13 serves to protect the wearer's clothing. Pads 16 of rubber, plush, &c. are attached to the inside of the waistband to prevent the shirt or blouse from riding up.
