Abstract
1311416 Trouser waistbands GREIFFWERKE GUSTAV WINKLER KG 5 Oct 1971 [6 Nov 1970] 46183/71 Heading A3V A pair of trousers comprises a front waistband part 3 and a rear waistband part 2 which interengage by a pin of the front part 3 sliding in a slot 10 of the rear part 2, and elastic tension bands 5 are attached at each end as by seams 6 to one of the waistband parts. The pins are provided at their outer ends with rivets 9 and at their inner ends with buttons 8 which engage in buttonholes 4 provided in flaps 7 of the front part 3 which flaps coverlap the rear part 2. The slots 10 may be edged with plastics or metal members having smooth or notched surfaces to allow automatic or preset adjustment for a wearer's girth respectively. The pins may taper towards or away from their centres and can be grooved and have different cross-sections. In one embodiment the pins secure the rear ends of the bands 5. Pockets 11 are provided which are attached to the trousers along edges 12 defining openings 20 in the fabric. An adhesion band may be provided on the inside of the waistband parts to inhibit the trousers from slipping down and a belt may be provided externally or internally of the waistbands.
