Abstract
A high temperature corrosion resistant alloy containing by weight: .5-30%.Cr .0-6.5%.Mo .0-10%.W .0-3%.V .0-5%.Ti .0-5%.Ta/Nb .0-8%.Al .0-2%.Si .0-2%.Mn .0-0.5%.B .0-0.5%.Zr .0-50%.Fe the remainder Ni and/or Co is aluminized by a diffusion process to form a surface diffusion zone not more than 0.01 mm. thick which has an Al content between 2% and 8%. The alloy parts are packed in a powder mixture of Al2O3 and 2-8% Al and up to 0.3% of NH4Cl and diffusion is effected above 1000 DEG C. Alternatively aluminium halide vapour is generated separately and passed over the alloy at the diffusion temperature. Specification 1,004,567 is referred to.
