Abstract
High temperature corrosion resistant alloys such as those containing by weight: <TABS:1004567/C6-C7/1> are aluminized by diffusion to form a diffusion zone not more than 0.05 mm. in depth, said zone containing 2-15% of aluminium. Pack diffusion is carried out at above 1000 DEG C. in a mixture containing Al2O3 and 5-15% Al. Alternatively aluminium halide vapour is generated from a mixture of Al2O3, and 30% Al and 0.3% NH4Cl, the vapour being passed over the alloy at the diffusion temperature.
