Abstract
A tantalum alloy of good corrosion resistance and mechanical strength at high temperatures has a composition within the following range in per cent by weight Cr 5-20, W 2-25, Ta the balance. The alloy may also contain one or more of the following impurities in the stated proportions C up to 0.5, O up to 0.8, N up to 0.2, Fe up to 5.0. The alloy may be used in the form of parts of gas turbines and internal combustion engines, heat exchangers and as linings for retorts and other containers in the chemical and metallurgical industries.
