Abstract

An alloy having good corrosion resistance and strength at high temperatures has a composition within the following range in per cent by weight: .Cr.3-20 .Al.2-8 .V.3-10 Nb and/or Ta and impurities the balance. The alloy may also contain: .Fe.up to 5 .W.up to 10 .C.e.g. up to 0.5 .O.e.g. up to 0.8 .N.e.g. up to 0.2 The alloy may be used in parts of gas turbines, in valves or other parts of internal combustion engines, linings of retorts and other chemical or metallurgical apparatus.
