Abstract
An alloy having good rupture ductility and high notch rupture strength at high temperatures, suitable for parts of jet engines and gas turbines, has the following composition:- .C.up to 0.15.per cent, .Mn.0.5-3.0.per cent, .Si.up to 1.5.per cent, .Cr.5.0-22.0.per cent, .Ni.7.0-50.0.per cent, .Ti.0.5-3.5.per cent, .Mo.0.25-2.0.per cent, .V.0.1-1.5.per cent .Fe, with incidental impurities, the.. .remainder... The alloy may also include Al in incidental amounts up to 3.5 per cent and optionally Co up to 25.0 per cent, the content of Fe being at least 14.0 per cent. The alloy may be solution treated for one hour at 1800 DEG F., quenched, hardened for sixteen hours at 1325 DEG F. and air or furnace cooled.
