Abstract

[Also in Division H2] A solid conductor 11 with an insulating covering 15 has one or two grooves 12, 13 extending axially along the surface of the conductor and so disposed that its cross-section may be readily divided into two unequal parts after stripping off the insulation. Severance of a length of the smaller part of the conductor may be effected with a pincer type cutting tool and it may be joined to a service cable either by bowing it away from the major part of the conductor and using a C-type crimping ferrule, or by cutting it transversely and using a straight ferrule (Fig. 2, not shown).
