1424464 Electric connectors GESCHWISTER PETRI HANDELGESELLSCHAFT mbH 17 Oct 1973 [19 Oct 1972] 48341/73 Heading H2E [Also in Division F2] A contact screw 1 for making connection with an insulated electric conductor by cutting away a portion of the insulation and conductor 25 comprises a screw-threaded shank 2 adjoined at one end by a smooth-surface tapered extension 4 formed with at least one cutting slot 6 which extends obliquely to the screw axis and whose depth decreases along the slot from the free end face 5 of the extension. The extension is frustoconical and the cutting edges of the slot in the end face 5 are sharp with the centre line (7, Fig. 2<SP>1</SP> not shown) of the end of the slot in the end face being offset from the diameter (8) to which it is parallel by one half the slot width. The conductor 25 is shown connected to a cable connected in the box 29 of cap 27 of a branch terminal, the screw 1 passing through the cap and into the insulation of conductor 25.
