Abstract

1,001,239. Arc rupturing in switches. A. REYROLLE & CO. Ltd. June 1, 1962, No. 21246/62. Heading H2B. An air break circuit-breaker having main contacts 10, 14 is provided with a pair of arc runners inside an arc chute 30. One runner 20 is pivoted to the movable contact 14 at 22 and to a link 26 having a fixed pivot 27 so that when the main contacts are closed the two runners are in contact and when the main contacts have opened the two runners separate, the other end of runner 20 always being adjacent an arc extinguishing structure 30 inside the chute.
