Abstract

The push button operated mechanisn opens a valve to release flush water to a water closet . The button (10) displaces a slide (12) to pivot a two-arm (16a) lever (16) and move a valve tube (3) upwards to open it or downwards to close it. The slide is capable of deviating laterally in either direction to engage either arm, depending on the position the lever is in at the time. The slide comprises a rod with a pivotable head (14). The rod may be guided by a sleeve (5) attached to the cover (1) and the lever may be mounted in an elongated sleeve slot (15). The sleeve may extend between the button housing (7) and a support shaft (4). The lever is equipped with two alternative cammed surfaces (22,25) which guide the rod head.
