Abstract

Plate rolling mill stand of the type with upright connected by pedestals and by the body of an upper roll vertical displacement appts. and carrying chocks (I) in which the work and support roll trunnions (II) engage has anti-flexing appts. associated with the support rolls and comprising a pair of bearings (III) mounted on each support roll (II), and hydraulic jacks applying anti-flexing forces in opposite directions on the (III). In each pair of (II) one is situated between (I) and the support roll body and the jacks are mounted on two cross-bars which connect two beams (IV) each of which is arranged along one lateral side of the rolls, and the second (III) of a pair is arranged at the outside of the (I) and cooperates with hydraulic jacks overhanging (IV) (for the upper support roll). For the lower support roll the second (III) cooperates with hydraulic jacks mounted on separate cross bars which connect the pedestals.
