Abstract

1439005 Rolling mills DEMAG AG 24 Aug 1973 [25 Aug 1972] 40204/73 Heading B3M To enable the housings 1 and 2 of a roll stand to accommodate rolls of different axial length, clock supporting blocks 17 and 18, whose height can simultaneously be adjusted, are positioned between the housings and the chocks 23 and 24 of a roll. The two halves of the drawing show how rolls of different length are supported on the blocks by thrust blocks 19 and 20. The blocks rest on wedges 5 and 6 connected by an oppositely threaded shaft 11. Movement of the wedges towards and away from each other by the shaft causes vertical adjustment of the blocks. Movement of the wedges may alternatively be effected electrically or hydraulically.
