Abstract

1,221,979. Rolling mills. FRIED. KRUPP G.m.b.H. 29 May, 1968 [30 May, 1967], No. 25740/68. Heading B3M. A pretensioned roll stand includes upper and lower crossheads 1 and 3 connected by tie rods 2, the crossheads acting against the chocks 9 and 10 of backing rolls 5 and 6. Roller mounted eccentrics 13 are located between the crossheads for providing pass adjustment during rolling. The eccentrics can be controlled by devices measuring the thickness of rolled stock or the pass. A mechanical screwdown 12, driven from an hydraulic pump 11, provides coarse pass adjustment.
