PROCEDIMIENTO PARA FABRICAR FIBRAS DE VIDRIO RESISTENTES A LOS ALCALIS. SE FUNDEN EN CONDICIONES NO OXIDANTES UNA COMPOSICION DE VIDRIO QUE CONTIENE EN PORCENTAJE EN PESO: 55-75 POR 100 DE SILICE, 11-23 POR 100 DE OXIDOS DE METALES ALCALINOS, TAL COMO SODIO, POTASIO Y LITIO; 6-22 POR 100 DE OXIDO DE CIRCONIO; 0,1-11 POR 100 DE OXIDO DE CROMO; 0,1-7 POR 100 DE OXIDO DE ALUMINIO Y 0,5-16 POR 100 DE OXIDOS DE TIERRAS RARAS MAS OXIDO DE TITANIO, NO SUPERANDO ESTE EL 10 POR 100. EL TOTAL DE LOS COMPONENTES CITADOS NO DEBE SUPERAR EL 88 POR 100 EN PESO DEL VIDRIO, ASEGURANDOSE CON ELLO QUE LA TOTALIDAD O UNA PROPORCION SUSTANCIAL DEL CROMO CONTENIDO EN EL VIDRIO SE HALLA EN ESTADO TRIVALENTE.
