Abstract

El método para producir hexaborato cálcico tetrahidratado cristalino, que comprende hacer reaccionar ácido bórico y cal en una suspensión acuosa, a una temperatura en el intervalo desde 60º C hasta inferior a 85º C, en el que la relación molar de ácido bórico a agua es mayor que 0,25:1, y la relación molar de cal a ácido bórico está en el intervalo de 0,05 a 0,15:1, en el que dichos agentes reaccionantes están presentes en una concentración suficiente para proporcionar al menos 25 % en peso de sólidos no disueltos en la suspensión acuosa del producto, y separar dicho hexaborato cálcico tetrahidratado cristalino de dicha suspensión acuosa del producto.
