- a locking device for a door or flap of a motor vehicle according to claim 1 is used to achieve the object.
- Advantageous embodiments result from the subclaims.
- the locking device for a door or flap of a motor vehicle is generally used to secure the door or flap against unplanned opening when the door or flap is closed, for example while driving a car.
- a rotary latch is basically rotatably mounted and can normally be pivoted between an open position and a closed position.
- the rotary latch can accommodate a locking bolt in the open position, which when the door or flap is closed from an open state to the closed state preferably enters an inlet mouth of the rotary latch and is thus received by the rotary latch.
- the rotary latch can pivot from the open position into the closed position with an accommodated locking bolt.
- a pawl is used to hold the rotary latch in the closed position, in particular so that the locking bolt is securely held in the closed position by the rotary latch.
- the catch can be held in the closed position by latching, namely in particular by latching the pawl, preferably with a stop.
- the pawl is rotatably mounted on the rotary latch means that the rotary latch is the pawl rotation axis and / or a pivot bearing for the Provides pawl, for example a pin. Since the pawl is rotatably mounted on the rotary latch, the pawl axis of rotation and thus correspondingly the pawl follows a pivoting movement of the rotary latch. In principle, a relative movement between the pawl and the rotary latch is only possible in the form of a rotation of the pawl relative to the rotary latch.
- the locking device for a door or flap of a motor vehicle By means of a locking device for a door or flap of a motor vehicle, in which the pawl is rotatably mounted on the rotary latch, the locking device for a door or flap of a motor vehicle can be provided in a particularly compact manner. This saves installation space. This in turn can create space for e.g. an electric opening device.
- the locking device is designed in such a way that the locking mechanism can be opened by moving a stop for the pawl, in particular out of a blocking position of the stop and / or into a release position of the stop.
- a stop means a component that can move independently of the pawl.
- such a stop is able to limit a rotation of the pawl, preferably in such a way that this limitation contributes to holding the rotary latch in the closed position by the pawl.
- no moving stop for a tension pawl is disclosed.
- Stop for the pawl means that the pawl rotatably mounted on the rotary latch can strike the stop during operation, in particular at least in one position of the movable stop, preferably the blocking position.
- “In operation” means in the case of a closing process and / or opening process of the closing device.
- the stop is at least in one position on the movement path of the pawl, which is composed of the rotational path of the pawl and the pivoting path of the rotary latch, basically by superposition.
- the locking device can be used in a flexible and / or modular manner enables.
- the locking device can be configured with an identical rotary latch ratchet unit for manual or electrical or manual and electrical triggering of the rotary latch. Triggering the rotary latch means that the rotary latch is no longer held in the closed position as planned and is consequently preferably pivoted in the direction of the opening position or into the opening position.
- the locking device comprises two stop surfaces for the pawl, the first stop surface being arranged at an angle to the second stop surface, the angle being in particular greater than 30 °, preferably greater than 60 °, particularly preferably greater than 90 °.
- Two stop surfaces for the pawl means that the pawl strikes both the first stop surface and the second stop surface during operation.
- the stop has the two stop surfaces, that is to say the first stop surface and the second stop surface.
- the stop is preferably a component.
- the angle can be measured between the normals of the two stop surfaces. If the stop is, for example, cuboid, with the top being the first stop surface and one side surface being the second stop surface, the angle is 90 °. If the top is the first stop surface and the bottom is the second stop surface, the angle is 180 °.
- the pawl hits the stop or the first stop surface when the rotary latch is pivoted from an open position for receiving a locking bolt into the closed position.
- the stop or the first stop surface rotates the pawl about the pawl rotation axis. This enables the pivoting movement of the rotary latch to be continued until the closed position is reached.
- the pawl for holding the rotary latch in the closed position lies in particular directly against the stop or against the second stop surface or presses against it.
- Concern also means at least selectively stay in contact.
- a torque acting on the rotary latch for rotating the rotary latch into the open position is absorbed by the pawl resting on the stop or the second stop surface. This makes it possible to hold the rotary latch and prevents the locking mechanism from opening unexpectedly.
- the locking device has a locking element for limiting a rotation of the locking pawl relative to the rotary latch.
- the blocking element is connected to the rotary latch in a fixed manner or is a projection of the rotary latch.
- the pawl for holding the rotary latch in the closed position lies in particular directly against the locking element or presses against it. Concern also means being in contact at least occasionally.
- a flat contact is provided between the pawl and the locking element for holding the rotary latch in the closed position, preferably flat over the majority of the surface of that side of the locking element which faces the pawl in the closed position of the rotary latch.
- the pawl has the shape of an elongated flat profile and / or overlaps flat with the rotary latch.
- the overlapping portion of the pawl is at least 40%, preferably more than 50%.
- An elongated flat profile is typically a component whose length is at least twice as large as the width and the width is at least twice as large as the thickness.
- the length and width that are perpendicular to the length become orthogonal to the pawl axis of rotation measured and the thickness parallel to the pawl rotation axis.
- the ends of the elongated flat profile are preferably angular in order to save material or are rounded, arcuate or semicircular in order to reduce material wear during operation.
- the pawl protrudes radially beyond the rotary latch when the pawl is in contact with the locking element.
- the pawl in this case rests on a side of the locking element against which the pawl strikes when the pawl has been rotated in a direction of rotation which is in the same direction as the pivoting direction of the rotary latch from an open position to the closed position.
- Radially protruding refers to the pawl rotation axis or rotary latch pivot axis, which in one embodiment are parallel to one another.
- the locking device has a pawl spring for pretensioning the pawl in a direction of rotation which is in the same direction as the pivoting direction of the rotary latch from an open position into the closed position.
- the rotary latch in order to obtain a particularly reliable snap mechanism, is biased by a rotary latch spring, in particular a torsion spring, about its rotary latch pivot axis in the pivoting direction of the rotary latch from its closed position into its open position.
- a rotary latch spring in particular a torsion spring
- the locking device is designed such that the locking pawl allows the rotary latch to pivot from an open position into the closed position by means of a snap mechanism, but blocks an unplanned pivoting of the rotary latch from the closed position into the open position.
- Unscheduled means that a user has not initiated any action to open or close the door or flap, but nevertheless appropriate forces are exerted on the locking mechanism, for example as a result of an accident.
- Scheduled on the other hand, means that a user has initiated a measure to open or close the door or flap, e.g. by operating an inside door handle or outside door handle or by pressing a button to electrically or mechanically open a door, tailgate or engine hood.
- a snap mechanism enables a particularly compact but functionally effective design of the locking device for a door or flap.
- the snap mechanism has the effect that when the rotary latch is pivoted from an open position into the closed position, the pawl, which is pressed against the locking element in particular by the pawl spring, rotates from its starting position by the stop or the or first stop surface against the pivoting direction relative to the rotary latch is, in particular against the force of the pawl spring.
- the pawl passes the stop and the rotary latch continues its pivoting movement unhindered to the closed position.
- the pawl is rotated back into the starting position, specifically in the pivoting direction of the rotary latch to the closed position, in particular by the force of the pawl spring.
- the pawl preferably rests against the locking element in the starting position.
- Rotation of the pawl in a direction of rotation that is in the same direction as the pivoting direction of the rotary latch from the open position into the closed position is prevented or limited by the locking element.
- the pawl cannot pass the stop, ie pass the stop in a direction of rotation that leads to the pivoting direction of the catch from the closed position in the opening position is rectified.
- the shortest distance of the stop in its blocking position to the rotary latch pivot axis is smaller than the greatest distance of the pawl to the rotary latch pivot axis or smaller than the distance of the pawl to the rotary latch pivot axis when the pawl is in contact with the locking element.
- the pawl can thus rest reliably against the stop, i.e. when the stop is in its blocking position.
- the locking device comprises a manual and / or a motorized device for moving the stop, in particular from the blocking position, preferably into the release position.
- a manual device it is sufficient to actuate an actuating lever, e.g. an internal actuating lever or an external actuating lever, in order to move the stop, in particular into the release position.
- a motor e.g. a hydraulic, electric or pneumatic motor, provides the power for moving the stop, in particular to move the stop into the release position.
- a high level of operating convenience can be achieved in this way. With manual and motorized equipment, there is improved safety in the event of a failure or defect in the engine.
- the stop is reset, in particular from the release position into the blocking position, by a spring. This saves strength and energy.
- the stop can be moved linearly or only moved linearly or rotated or only rotated.
- a linearly movable stop can be manually operated in a particularly effortless manner.
- a rotatable stop can be motorized in a technically particularly simple and compact manner be operated.
- the stop is formed by a web on a turntable or by a movable part of a housing or lock case of the locking device.
- a particularly compact locking device can thus be provided.
- a ridge is a protrusion on the surface of the turntable.
- a movable part of a housing or lock case is, for the sake of low manufacturing costs, a part that is separated therefrom and consequently movable relative to it or, for the purpose of increased robustness while saving space, a separately manufactured part that is adapted to the shape of the housing or the lock case.
- the locking device is a motor vehicle door lock.
- the locking device is a motor vehicle door lock with an electrical opening device for the door.
- the locking device according to the invention enables a space saving, which guarantees the additional advantage, particularly with the specific requirements and the specific installation situation of a motor vehicle door lock, that space is created for an additional electrical opening device, in particular without providing additional space.
- the pawl 2 is mounted on the rotary latch 1.
- a pawl spring 12 in particular a torsion spring, preferably around the pawl rotation axis 14, presses the pawl 2 against a locking element 7 firmly connected to the rotary latch 1, so that when the pawl 2 rests on the locking element 7, the pawl 2 radially over the circumference, i.e. the outer edge, the rotary latch 1 protrudes.
- the locking element 7 is arranged on that side of the pawl 2, starting from the pawl rotation axis 14, which lies in the pivoting direction of the rotary latch 1 from an open position to the closed position.
- the pawl rotation axis 14 is covered by the locking element 7 in a direction perpendicular to the contact surface of the locking element 7 so that a short locking pawl can be arranged together with the locking element 7 near the outer edge of the rotary latch 1.
- the protruding pawl 2 in particular with the protruding end, hits an obstacle during the pivoting movement of the rotary latch 1 into the closed position, i.e. in the present case the movable stop 3, the pawl 2 can deflect or elastically spring back against this pivoting movement of the rotary latch.
- the pawl 2 is pushed away from the obstacle or the stop 3, so to speak, until the rotary latch 1 has continued the pivoting movement so far that the pawl 2 has passed, slid or slid past the obstacle or the stop 3.
- the stop 3 is a projection or web 13 on a turntable 8, which can be rotated by an electric drive, not shown, about the turntable axis 20 and thus the stop 3 in the release position and especially able to move into a blocked position.
- the rotary latch 1 is biased by a rotary latch spring 15, in particular a torsion spring, about the rotary latch pivot axis 16 in the pivoting direction of the rotary latch 1 from its closed position into its open position, that is to say in the FIG. 1 and 2 counterclockwise.
- a rotary latch spring 15 in particular a torsion spring
- the stop 3 of the turntable 8 is as in FIG FIG. 1 shown in a blocked position.
- the rotary latch spring 15 presses the locking pawl 2 resting on the locking element 7 against the second stop surface 5 of the stop 3 via the locking element 7.
- the locking pawl 2, which is rotatably mounted about the locking pawl rotation axis 14, is thus to a certain extent clamped between the second stop surface 5 and the contact surface of the locking element 7 and therefore cannot deflect or rotate.
- the force between the pawl 2 and the second stop surface 5 is thus absorbed by the locking element 7 and in principle also at least partially by the pawl rotation axis 14.
- the turntable 8 is rotated in one direction of rotation by the electric drive (see the dashed direction of rotation arrow in FIG. 1 clockwise), which is rectified to the pretensioning direction of the pawl spring 12, that is, has the same direction of rotation.
- the path of movement is free for the pawl 2 to pivot with the rotary latch 1 into the open position (see dashed lines Direction of rotation arrow in FIG. 1 counterclockwise), ie without relative movement between pawl 2 and rotary latch 1.
- the structure described enables a particularly convenient electrical opening of the door or flap at the push of a button.
- the turntable 8 and thus the stop 3 are moved back into the blocking position, in particular by a spring.
- the electric opening device has an electric drive with a center zero position.
- This is typically an electric drive which, when deactivated, is held in a central position, e.g. by a spring.
- this middle position corresponds to the blocking position of the stop 3.
- a particularly simply constructed electrical opening device can be realized in this way.
- the pawl 2 pivots with the rotary latch 1 in the direction of the closed position.
- the pawl spring 12 presses the pawl 2 against the locking element 7 and rests there until the pawl 2 strikes the stop 3 in the blocking position, that is, the first stop surface 4.
- the pawl 2 rotates when it hits the stop 3 against the force of the pawl spring 12 and is thus displaced or deflected by the stop 3. After the pawl 2 has passed the stop 3, the pawl 2 therefore rotates again due to the biasing force of the pawl spring 12 back to the locking element 7 to rest against the locking element 7.
- the web 13 is arcuate.
- the web 13 is preferably spiral-shaped, preferably starting at an axis of rotation of the turntable 8 and extending radially in the direction of the circumference of the turntable 8. This enables effective power transmission.
- the width of the web 13 and / or the height of the web 13 increases steadily from the turntable axis 20 in the direction of the circumference of the turntable 8. This enables effective power transmission.
- the second stop surface 5 is formed by the end of the web 13, preferably by the wider end. This end is preferably essentially parallel to a radial line from the turntable axis 20.
- the turntable 8 is arranged at an open end of the lock case 10. Making an opening 11 as in the in FIG. 2 The embodiment shown can thus be saved.
- FIG. 2 shows a locking device for a door or flap of a motor vehicle with a manual device for opening the locking device.
- the stop 3 is here a movable part 9 of the lock case 10 or on the lock case 10.
- a spring (not shown) ensures that the stop 3 is pretensioned in the direction of its blocking position, which is shown in FIG FIG. 2 is shown.
- the rotary latch 1 is analogous to the embodiment of FIG. 1 described held by the pawl 2 in the closed position. If the user now actuates an actuating lever, for example a door handle, the stop 3 is moved or displaced in particular linearly against the spring force from the blocking position into the release position. Analogous to the embodiment of FIG. 1 described, the pawl 2 can pass the stop 3 and the rotary latch 1 can pivot or be pivoted into the open position.
- the pawl 2 pivots analogously to the embodiment of FIG. 1 described with the rotary latch 1 with in the direction of the closed position.
- an opening 11 is made in the housing or the lock case 10, into which the pawl 2 dips when the pawl 2 holds the rotary latch 1 in the closed position.
- the movable part 9 of the lock case 10, which can form the stop 3, preferably forms an edge of the opening 11. This enables a compact snap-in mechanism to be implemented.
- An additional stop element 17 can be provided in one embodiment to form an edge of the opening 11 against which the pawl 2 would strike when pivoting with the rotary latch 1 beyond the closed position, starting from the open position. Protection of the lock case 10 and thus increased security in the event of a crash can thus be made possible.
- the pawl rotation axis 12 arranged in the area of the tentacle arm.
- the rotary latch axis 16 is preferably arranged closer to the catch arm than to the load arm. This enables a compact and effective snap mechanism.
- the pawl 2 takes on the function of a locking clutch.
- a locking device for a door or flap of a motor vehicle in particular a motor vehicle door lock, generally comprises at least one lock plate or an in particular metallic lock case 10 with a lock plate arranged therein and usually made of metal which the rotary latch 1 is mounted.
- the lock plate is usually provided with an inlet slot 18 for receiving the locking bolt 6.
- the rotary latch 1 usually has a fork-shaped inlet mouth 19, formed by the load arm and catch arm, for receiving the locking bolt 6 in the opening position of the rotary latch 1, into which the locking bolt 6 of a vehicle door or flap, for example the engine hood or trunk lid, reaches when the door or the trunk flap is opened. Flap is closed.
- the locking bolt 6 then rotates the rotary latch 1 from an open position into a closed position with the aid of the catch arm.
- the rotary latch 1 When the rotary latch 1 has reached the closed position, it is held in this position by the pawl 2.
- the locking bolt 6 can no longer leave the inlet mouth 19 of the rotary latch 1, since this is prevented by the load arm. This closed position is called the main detent position.
- the pre-latching position is used to catch the corresponding door or flap if it does not reach the main latching position when it is closed.
- the rotary latch 1 In the pre-latching position, the rotary latch 1 is consequently not completely closed, but an opening movement of the rotary latch 1 is already prevented by the locking pawl 2 or a pre-latching pawl, not shown. Finally, in the main locking position, the rotary latch 1 is completely closed.
- the preliminary detent therefore represents a transitional state between the open state and the main detent and is provided for safety reasons.
- the closed position is the main detent position.
- a particularly convenient opening can also be realized electrically.
- the closed position is the pre-latching position. A particularly secure and at the same time conveniently operable locking device can thus be made possible.
- the rotary latch 1 pivots with the locking pawl 2 resting on the locking element 7 from the opening position when it is closed temporarily beyond the closed position into a position in which the pawl 2 is ground past the stop 3 and is rotated back to the contact surface of the locking element 7.
- the rotary latch 1 in particular only then pivots into the closed position. A reliable snap mechanism can thus be made possible even in confined spaces.
