Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for handling a bag chain according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the invention further relates to a corresponding device for handling a bag chain according to the preamble of claim 8.
  • a bag chain is a multitude of bags that are connected to each other to form a chain.
  • the bags can be formed from a film material and filled with a package content or empty.
  • the bags in the bag chain usually have two large-format side walls that are connected to each other by side seams. Adjacent bags within the bag chain are connected in a connection area, this connection area is usually located between the mutually facing side seams of adjacent bags in the bag chain.
  • the bags can be separated from the bag chain by separation in the connection area. Either a separating cut is made in the connection area for this purpose or a perforation line is provided in the connection area which can be separated in order to separate the bags.
  • Such bag chains are usually packed in boxes after production.
  • Such a device is, for example, from DE 28 08 513 A known.
  • the bag chain is swiveled Guide walls 10 performed, which perform a pendulum movement, whereby the bag chain is folded into the so-called zigzag layers after the guide walls.
  • a disadvantage of this solution is that the performance of the device is limited by the pendulum movement of the guide walls and the masses to be moved with it.
  • the invention is based on the object of further developing methods and devices of the type mentioned at the outset, in particular with a view to greater performance and at the same time as gentle as possible handling of the bags or bag chains.
  • a method for solving this problem has the features of claim 1. It is accordingly provided that the bag chain is folded by at least two folding members which reach between the bags of the bag chain to fold the bag chain. It has surprisingly been shown that bag chains can be folded quickly and gently in this way.
  • adjacent bags of the bag chain are connected to one another in a connection area, the folding members in the connection area between adjacent bags reaching into the bag chain in order to fold the bag chain there. In this way it is possible in particular to fold the bag chains particularly gently
  • the bag chain is folded around the folding members by relative movement between the folding members and the bag chain.
  • a movement of the folding members towards the bag chain as well as the other way round or a superimposed movement is conceivable.
  • the bag chain is folded in zigzag layers, the bag chain being folded by the folding elements in such a way that the bag chain is first in one direction by a first folding element and then in another by a second folding element the first direction is folded to form the zigzag layers.
  • the folding members are at least partially formed by arms of one or more rotationally driven star wheels, the arms reaching between adjacent bags and thereby folding the bag chain.
  • At least two star wheels are arranged on different, opposite sides of the bag chain, the arms of the folding members arranged on different, opposite sides of the bag chain alternately reaching into the bag chain to zigzag the bag chain -Zag layers to fold.
  • a further special feature can be that the bags of the bag chain folded in layers coming from the folding organs are fed to a discharge conveyor, with which the folded bags of the bag chain are held in their formation during transport and conveyed towards a filling station for containers, provided that is that the bags of the bag chain with upright layers are transported by the conveyor and it is further provided that the layers are transported inclined relative to an imaginary vertical plane on the conveyor, in particular inclined in the transport direction.
  • the bags of the bag chain arranged in layers are pushed into a container by a slide, the bags of the bag chain arranged in layers coming from the conveyor being transported to a pivotable platform which is used to accept the bags the bag chain is arranged inclined and for the removal of the Bag of the bag chain is pivoted into a horizontal arrangement, parallel to the walls of the container arranged adjacent to the platform.
  • a device for solving the above-mentioned object has the features of claim 8. It is accordingly provided that the device has at least two folding members which are set up to fold the bag chain by the folding members reaching between the bags of the bag chain.
  • the folding members are arranged on different, opposite sides of the bag chain, the folding members being set up so that the bag chain can first be folded in one direction by a first folding member and then in another direction that deviates from the first direction by another, second folding member , to form zigzag layers.
  • the folding member (s) are at least partially formed by arms of one or more rotationally driven star wheels, the arms being designed to reach between adjacent bags and thereby fold the bag chain.
  • the star wheels can be driven in a continuously rotating manner about parallel axes arranged at such a distance from one another, so that one arm of one star wheel always engages in a free space between two arms of the other star wheel, and the bag chain between passed through the adjacent arms of the opposite star wheels and can be folded by the movement of the arms
  • Another special feature can be the construction of a conveyor for the stacked bags. Accordingly, the bags of the chain of bags folded in layers can be fed to the removal conveyor, the conveyor having compartments in each of which a folded bag chain is accommodated and which are set up to hold the folded bags of the bag chain during transport with the conveyor in their Hold formation.
  • the discharge conveyor is formed by two (endless) conveyors, each of which has protruding drivers from a conveying strand of the respective conveyors, so that the compartments are limited by the conveying dreams of the conveyors facing one another and the respective carriers are, and wherein the drivers are arranged inclined to an imaginary vertical plane on the conveying strands, and wherein the bags of the bag chain with one side face against the drivers, so that the layers can be transported in the compartments inclined in the transport direction.
  • the device has a pivotable platform for transferring the folded bag chains to a container, the platform for taking over the folded bag chains being inclined and pivotable in a horizontal plane for transferring the folded bag chains, or parallel to walls of the container arranged adjacent to the platform.
  • the invention is described below with reference to a packaging machine 10 with which bag chains 11 are packed in containers 12.
  • the bag chains 11 are arranged stacked within the container 12.
  • the invention is concerned with the formation of these stacks 13 and the subsequent transport thereof into a container 12.
  • Fig. 1 shows the essential organs of the device.
  • the bag chain 11 to be packed is separated in a cutting station 14, and the bag chain 11 is folded in a subsequent folding station 15.
  • the folded bag chains 11 are removed by means of a discharge conveyor 16. Finally, the folded bag chains 11 are introduced into the container 12.
  • the bag chains 11 are configured as described at the outset, that is to say as a chain of bags 17 connected to one another. Adjacent bags 17 are connected to one another in a connecting region 18.
  • the bag chains 11 are shortened to a predetermined length.
  • a separating knife 19 is used which works together with a counter knife 20, which is arranged on a different side of the bag chain 11 than the separating knife 19.
  • the bag chain 11 conveyed in the direction of the folding station 15 is transported past the separating knife 19 and counter knife 20, the position of the connecting areas 18 being detected by a sensor 21 and the bag chain 11 at a certain length by moving the separating knife 19 and counter knife 20 in the connecting area 18 is separated.
  • conveyors 22 serve to transport the bag chain 11 in the direction of the folding station 15.
  • the bags 17 or the bag chains 11 are arranged in layers 23 within the stack 13 to be formed. In the present case, two bags 17 are arranged in each layer 23. However, the number of bags 17 per layer 23 can vary. It is conceivable that only one bag 17 is provided per layer 23. Several bags 17 per layer 23 are also conceivable.
  • the bag chain 11 is arranged in a zigzag-like manner. Accordingly, the bag chain 11 has to be folded alternately in two directions.
  • two star wheels 24, 25 are provided in the exemplary embodiment shown, with the arms 26 of which the bag chain 11 is alternately folded in one and the other direction.
  • the two star wheels 24, 25 are each arranged to rotate about a horizontal axis 27.
  • the direction of rotation of the two star wheels 24, 25 is in opposite directions.
  • Both star wheels 24, 25 have the same number of arms 26.
  • the arms 26 are each arranged radially with respect to the axis 27. Clearances 28 are formed between adjacent arms 26 of a star wheel 24, 25.
  • the two star wheels 24, 25 or their axes 27 are arranged at a vertical distance from one another, however, in such a way that the arms 26 of one star wheel 24, 25 each protrude into the free spaces 28 between the arms 26 of the other star wheel 25, 24.
  • the angular position of the arms 26 is preferably offset from one another by 90 °. In this way, the zigzag folding of the bag chain 11 can take place.
  • the supplied bag chain 11 is lifted off the conveyor 22 with a first arm 26 of the lower star wheel 25.
  • the two bags 17 of the first layer 23 rest on the arm 26 and a free end of the arm 26 extends into the connection area 18 to the next bag 17 ( Fig. 3 ).
  • a free end of an arm 26 of the upper star wheel 24 engages from the other side into a connecting region 18 between adjacent pairs of bags and thus specifies the folding of the bag chain 11 in the other direction ( Fig. 4 ). In this way, the bag chain is folded as folding members by the alternate engagement of arms 26 of the two star wheels 24, 25.
  • a vertical arrangement of the axes 27 is also conceivable, so that the star wheels 24, 25 are then arranged to rotate in a horizontal plane.
  • the bag chain 11 is then folded in a horizontal plane instead of in a vertical plane as shown in the figures.
  • the two star wheels 24, 25 can be coupled with respect to the drive, for example by means of gear wheels. However, it is also conceivable that the star wheels 24, 25 are driven by independent servomotors. In this case, it is also possible to individually adjust the rotational speeds of the two star wheels 24, 25. It is also conceivable to vary the rotational speeds of the star wheels 24, 25 in order to keep the feed of the bag chain 11 as constant as possible, in particular in the inlet area of the discharge conveyor 16. This variation of the rotational speeds can be carried out separately for each star wheel 24, 25 (individually different) or for both star wheels 24, 25 together (both in agreement).
  • the folded bag chain 11 arrives in the area of the discharge conveyor 16.
  • the bags are placed on guides 38 and pushed into a compartment 29 in the direction of the discharge conveyor 16.
  • the compartments 29 of the discharge conveyor 16 are delimited on the upper and lower sides by conveyor strands 30, 31 by endless conveyors 32, 33, and laterally by drivers 34 which protrude from the conveyor strands 30, 31.
  • the distance between the endless conveyors 32, 33 arranged one above the other or the length of the drivers 34 is dimensioned such that the lateral boundaries of the compartments 29 are each formed by a driver 34 of the conveyor run 30 and a driver 34 of the conveyor run 31.
  • the drivers 34 and thus the side walls of the compartments 29 are arranged inclined in the conveying direction of the discharge conveyor 16.
  • the upright layers 23 of the stack 13 are arranged in a correspondingly inclined manner. In this way, the layers 23 can be leaned accordingly and thus have less tendency to fall over.
  • the discharge conveyor 16 as a whole in an inclined manner, in which case the drivers 34 can then be arranged perpendicular to the conveyor strands 30, 31 in order to achieve the situation described above.
  • a substantially vertical arrangement of the discharge conveyor 16 would also be conceivable, so that the stacks 13 can be transported downwards or upwards as in a shaft.
  • the stacks 13 arrive on a platform 35 which is designed to be inclined in the same direction as the driver 34 in relation to an imaginary horizontal plane in order to accept a stack.
  • the stack 13 becomes supported downstream by a counter bracket 36 to prevent the layers 23 of the stack 13 from falling apart.
  • the counter-holder 36 is moved in the conveying direction with the stack 13 until it has reached the platform 35 ( Fig. 9 ).
  • the platform 35 is then pivoted into a horizontal plane or pushed into a position parallel to the walls of the container 12 and the stack 13 is pushed into the container 12 transversely to the transport direction by a slide 37.
