  • FIG. 8 is the only illustrated implementation of incorporating the force sensing device 18 into footwear 20, it should be noted that other implementations may be utilized in the present invention.
  • the footwear 20 may also include flexible shoe or footwear covers, over-shoe/footwear attachment, snap-on attachments, insoles, shoe or footwear inserts, or other types of footwear.
  • the force sensing device 18 may include a steady state detection unit configured to wait for a steady state when weight is approximately distributed to the two shoes and/or when the weight does not fluctuate significantly.
  • the force sensing device 18 may be positioned near a front portion of the shoes or boots underneath the toes and/or balls (i.e., the padded portions of the soles) of the user's feet 52. Therefore, weight can be measured when the user 22 raises his or her heels off the ground 54 and balances on the balls of his or her feet 52.
  • the force sensing device 18 and/or portable control unit 12 may be configured to determine the weight of the user 22 before picking up the package 50 and then determine weight again after the user 22 picks up the package 50. By subtracting out the weight of user 22, the weight of the package 50 can be determined.
  • the force sensing device 18 can therefore be calibrated with the user's weight at the beginning of a shift when the user 22 first puts the footwear 20 on his or her feet. Calibration may also be made at various times throughout the shift to accurately account for variations in the user's weight, particularly if the user 22 eats a meal, removes a layer of clothing during the shift, adds or removes items from the user's pockets, etc.
  • calibration should be performed after the user 22 has already placed the headgear 16 (or body wear) on his or her head (or body) to account for the weight of the dimensioner 14 and headgear 16 (or body wear).

Claims (15)

  1. Système destiné à déterminer les dimensions et le poids d'un objet, le système comprenant :
    un dimensionneur monté sur coiffure pour être porté sur la tête d'un utilisateur, le dimensionneur comprenant une caméra de télémétrie configurée pour balayer optiquement un objet ;
    un dispositif de détection de force incorporé dans des chaussures devant être portées sur au moins un pied de l'utilisateur, le dispositif de détection de force étant configuré pour mesurer une force agissant sur une partie inférieure des chaussures ; et
    une unité de commande portable comportant un module d'entrée de dimensions configuré pour recevoir des signaux provenant du dimensionneur représentatifs des dimensions de l'objet, l'unité de commande portable comportant en outre un module d'entrée de poids configuré pour recevoir des signaux provenant du dispositif de détection de force représentatifs du poids de l'objet lorsqu'il est supporté par l'utilisateur.
  2. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel la coiffure en est au moins une parmi un chapeau, une casquette, un bandeau, et des lunettes.
  3. Système de la revendication 2, dans lequel la coiffure est un casque de protection ayant une visière transparente et un dispositif d'affichage configuré pour projeter des informations visuelles sur la visière transparente.
  4. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel la coiffure comporte un casque d'écoute ayant un dispositif d'entrée audio destiné à recevoir des commandes vocales provenant de l'utilisateur et un dispositif de sortie audio destiné à fournir des signaux audio à l'utilisateur.
  5. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel l'opération de détermination des dimensions de l'objet se produit de façon sensiblement simultanée avec l'opération de mesure de la force agissant sur la partie inférieure des chaussures.
  6. Système de la revendication 5, dans lequel l'unité de commande portable est configurée pour déterminer les dimensions et le poids de l'objet de façon sensiblement simultanée.
  7. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel l'unité de commande portable comprend un module d'interface hôte destiné à communiquer sans fil les dimensions et le poids de l'objet à un ordinateur hôte.
  8. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel le dispositif de détection de force en comprend au moins un parmi un capteur hydraulique, un capteur capacitif, un capteur de déformation, et un capteur de performances musculaires.
  9. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel le dispositif de détection de force comprend en outre au moins un capteur de pression destiné à permettre à l'utilisateur d'entrer des commandes par une procédure de tapotement du pied.
  10. Système de la revendication 1, comprenant en outre au moins un élément parmi un clavier, un commutateur, et un bouton monté sur au moins un élément parmi le dimensionneur, le dispositif de détection de force, et l'unité de commande portable.
  11. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel le module d'entrée de dimensions et le module d'entrée de poids sont configurés pour recevoir sans fil des signaux provenant respectivement du dimensionneur et du dispositif de détection de force.
  12. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel l'unité de commande portable comprend au moins un élément de fixation pour que l'unité de commande portable puisse être fixée à une ceinture ou un vêtement de l'utilisateur.
  13. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel les chaussures sont au moins un élément parmi une paire de souliers, une paire de bottes, des couvre-chaussures étirables, des semelles intérieures, des garnitures de chaussures, et des attaches de chaussures.
  14. Système de la revendication 1, comprenant en outre un dispositif de lecture de codes à barres disposé dans le dimensionneur, le dispositif de lecture de codes à barres étant configuré pour lire un code à barres sur l'objet.
  15. Système de la revendication 1, dans lequel l'objet est un paquet à livrer.
