Definitions

  • the invention relates to a surface cleaning machine, comprising a cleaning roller holder, at least one cleaning roller which is arranged on the cleaning roller holder, a drive device for rotationally driving the at least one cleaning roller, and a sweeping element which is assigned to the at least one cleaning roller and Cleaning roller feeds sweepings.
  • a cleaning device for cleaning a surface which comprises a rotatable brush.
  • a rubber wiper element is also provided, which is spaced apart from the brush and is attached to an underside of a nozzle housing.
  • a cleaning device with a rotatable brush and a single rubber wiper element is also known.
  • a device for fluid distribution on a brush is known.
  • a method for cleaning or cleaning a preferably smooth surface is known, in which the surface to be cleaned is wiped with a substantially cloth-like wiping element while the dirt is being wiped by the wiping element and then the soiled wiping element is moistened and then the dirt is sucked off the wiping element becomes.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a surface cleaning machine of the type mentioned, with which optimal cleaning results on a surface to be cleaned and in particular a hard surface to be cleaned.
  • the sweeping element is immersed, at least in one cleaning operation, with a front area in a trim of the at least one cleaning roller, a front end of the sweeping element being arranged on the front area.
  • the front end of the sweeping element is then immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller in the cleaning operation.
  • Coarse dirt is fed to the at least one cleaning roller through the sweeping element. This is then carried along by the at least one cleaning roller and can be suctioned off via at least one suction mouth.
  • a sweeping element which is immersed with a front area in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller, a constant adjustment of the sweeping element to a surface to be cleaned is possible. It is thereby ensured that a sweeping edge (as the line of contact of the sweeping element on the surface to be cleaned) can form in the cleaning operation in order to be able to supply coarse dirt to the at least one cleaning roller.
  • a pile depth of the trim is actively used to a certain extent, in order to enable constant adaptation to the surface to be cleaned.
  • the front area is designed to be elastic in such a way that it is immersed in the trim due to the weight of the surface cleaning machine when the surface cleaning machine is set up on a surface to be cleaned with the at least one cleaning roller.
  • the weight of the surface cleaning machine causes an elastic deformation (in particular bending) on the sweeping element and thus immersion in the trim.
  • a safe immersion can thereby be achieved, whereby immersion can also be ensured if the angle of the surface cleaning machine varies with the surface to be cleaned.
  • the front end is at a distance from an outside of the trim in a range between 5 percent and 80 percent based on a thickness of the trim.
  • the sweeping element is formed at least in two parts with a first part and a second part, the second part having a higher elasticity than the first part and the front region being arranged or formed on the second part.
  • a functional separation on the sweeping element can be achieved by a two-part design.
  • the second part can be designed with greater elasticity in order to ensure that the front area is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller at least in one cleaning operation.
  • the first part is used to hold and position the second part.
  • the first part also serves to guide the flow of fluid to one or more suction mouths.
  • the first part has no elasticity that is functional for the sweeping element.
  • the first part can have an inherent elasticity that is so low that the first part cannot deflect elastically in a normal operating mode.
  • the first part is made of a glass fiber reinforced plastic.
  • the second part has, in particular, a Shore hardness in the range between 70 and 90 in order to enable elastic evasion.
  • the second part is made of an elastomer, for example.
  • the sweeping element is designed such that a sweeping edge is always on the second part in the cleaning operation.
  • the sweeping edge is the contact line with which the sweeping element on the cleansing surface.
  • the design mentioned ensures that the sweeping edge lies against the elastic part of the sweeping element in the cleaning operation.
  • the front area of the sweeping element which in turn forms or is formed on the second part, is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller. It is thereby achieved that an elastic evasion is possible, and thereby an optimized sweeping effect and entrainment effect of "swept up" coarse dirt by the at least one cleaning roller is possible. This good sweeping effect and entrainment effect is guaranteed for all angular positions of the surface cleaning machine relative to the surface to be cleaned, if this is set up on the surface to be cleaned via the at least one cleaning roller.
  • the second part follows the first part in a circumferential direction and in particular the second part is connected to the first part. This allows a one-piece (but multi-part) sweeping element to be provided, which enables an optimized sweeping result.
  • the first part facing the cleaning roller has a cylindrical outer surface.
  • This cylindrical lateral surface forms a "smooth" flow guiding surface, along which a fluid flow can be passed for suction.
  • the sweeping element is produced by a multi-component injection molding process and in particular a two-component injection molding process.
  • This makes it possible to produce a sweeping element that is multi-part in terms of its functionality, but is designed in one piece.
  • This one-piece sweeping element can be easily fixed to the cleaning roller holder and clipped on there, for example.
  • different material properties can easily be set for the first part and the second part. In particular, different elastic properties can be set.
  • a thickness of the sweeping element tapers towards the front end.
  • the front area is designed such that, at least in one cleaning operation, a distance of an outside of the front area facing the at least one cleaning roller to an axis of rotation of the cleaning roller decreases in at least one section towards the front end. This ensures that the front area of the sweeping element is immersed in the trimmings of the at least one cleaning roller with the advantages described above.
  • the sweeping element has a first area and a second area, which follow one another along an axis of rotation of the sweeping element of the at least one cleaning roller, at least one continuous recess being arranged between the first area and the second area.
  • a shaft of the at least one cleaning roller can, for example, be coupled to a corresponding drive device through the continuous recess. This makes it possible to implement a central drive for the at least one cleaning roller. This in turn provides a high level of edge cleaning capability on both sides for the corresponding surface cleaning machine.
  • the at least one cleaning roller is formed at least in two parts, with a first part which is assigned to the first region of the sweeping element and a second part which is assigned to the second region of the sweeping element, one or more Coupling elements of the drive device, which couple the drive device to the at least one cleaning roller, through which at least one continuous recess is immersed.
  • a surface cleaning machine with a central drive of the at least one cleaning roller can thereby be realized. Then it is not, for example more necessary to store the at least one cleaning roller on the outside. This in turn gives high cleaning performance on both sides, even at edge areas.
  • first region and the second region of the sweeping element are connected via a web.
  • the sweeping element can thereby be formed as one part.
  • a sliding surface can be formed on the web, an associated counter-sliding surface in particular being free of trimmings.
  • the associated counter-sliding surface is arranged, for example, on the at least one cleaning roller or a shaft for the at least one cleaning roller.
  • the front end face is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller and is not in contact with the surface to be cleaned, and in particular that a sweeping edge, which abuts the surface to be cleaned, is spaced apart from the front end.
  • the sweeping element is fixedly arranged on the cleaning roller holder and in particular is arranged on the cleaning roller holder in a non-displaceable and non-rotatable manner. It is possible for the sweeping element and in particular a portion of the sweeping element to move relative to the cleaning roller holder via an elastic design or elastic partial design of the sweeping element.
  • the sweeping element is arranged to be movable and in particular rotatable on the cleaning roller holder. Due to a rotatable arrangement, the sweeping element as a whole is movable relative to the cleaning roller holder and thus also to the at least one cleaning roller. As a result, a constant distance between the rotating cleaning roller and the sweeping edge can also be achieved regardless of the angular position of the surface cleaning machine relative to the surface to be cleaned, if the at least one cleaning roller is placed on it.
  • the rotatable mobility of the sweeping element allows a corresponding adjustment. It is also advantageous here if a front area of the sweeping element is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller.
  • the sweeping element facing away from the forward direction covers the at least one cleaning roller to the rear and on the surface to be cleaned over at least a length of at least a cleaning roller is applied.
  • the sweeping edge lies in particular on an elastic region of the sweeping element.
  • a moistening device is provided for the cleaning roller. This allows the rotating cleaning roller to be moistened directly or indirectly.
  • cleaning liquid is applied directly to the at least one cleaning roller.
  • indirect moistening cleaning liquid is applied to the surface to be cleaned and the at least one cleaning roller absorbs liquid from there.
  • the cleaning liquid provided by the moistening device makes it easier to loosen and take away dirt on the surface to be cleaned.
  • a first embodiment of a surface cleaning machine according to the invention which in Figure 10 is shown for cleaning (hard) floors. It is therefore a floor cleaning machine.
  • the surface floor cleaning machine 10 comprises a device body 12 with a housing 14. Components of the surface floor cleaning machine 10 are arranged in a protected manner in the housing 14.
  • a suction unit 16 is arranged in the housing 14, which comprises a blower device and a motor device (in particular an electric motor device) for driving the blower device.
  • a suction flow is generated via the suction unit 16 in order to effect suction on a cleaning head 18.
  • a separator device 20 is also arranged in the housing 14 and separates solid and liquid components from one another in a suction flow. Furthermore, a tank device 22 for (sucked in) dirty liquid is arranged in the housing 14. The tank device 22 is in particular removably positioned on the housing 14.
  • the surface cleaning machine 10 comprises a moistening device 24, via which cleaning liquid (water or water with an additional cleaning agent) can be provided to a cleaning roller 26 of the cleaning head 18.
  • a tank device 28 for cleaning liquid is arranged in the housing 14 and provides the cleaning device 24 with this cleaning liquid.
  • the surface cleaning machine 10 is hand-held.
  • a holder 30 is arranged on the device body 12.
  • This holder 30 comprises a holding rod 32, at the end region of which a handle 34 is seated.
  • the handle 34 is designed in particular as a bow handle. Operating elements and in particular a switch for switching on or off corresponding devices of the surface cleaning machine 10 are arranged in the region of the handle 34.
  • a winding device 36 for a mains cable can be arranged on the holding rod 32.

  • the drive device 40 is arranged in the housing 14 or arranged in the cleaning head 18.
  • part of the drive device 40 is arranged in the housing 14 and part is arranged on the cleaning head 18.
  • the drive device 40 comprises in particular an electric motor. This provides a torque for the rotary drive of the cleaning roller 26 about an axis of rotation 42.
  • the surface cleaning machine 10 When the surface cleaning machine 10 is in operation, it is placed on the surface to be cleaned via the cleaning roller 26 and is supported on the surface solely by the cleaning roller 26. An operator holds the surface cleaning machine 10 on the handle 34, the operator standing in normal operation. The operator can adjust an angular position of the surface cleaning machine 10 (an angular position of the holding rod 32) to the surface to be cleaned. This takes place via the angular positioning of the overall device 10 relative to the surface to be cleaned.
  • a pivot axis 44 for such an angular movement is formed by the contact area of the cleaning roller 26 on a surface 46 to be cleaned.
  • a pivot axis 48 for a possible pivotability of the cleaning head 18 relative to the device body 12 lies transversely to this pivot axis 44 or transversely to the axis of rotation 42.
  • the cleaning roller 26 has a longitudinal axis 50.
  • This longitudinal axis 50 is coaxial with the axis of rotation 42.

It comprises a nozzle 54 arranged on the cleaning roller holder 38, via which a pivotable mounting of the cleaning head 38 on the device body 12 is realized.
  • One or more liquid lines 56 lead from the moistening device 24, which is arranged in particular on the housing 14, to the moistening device 24 of the cleaning head 18.
  • Nozzles are arranged on the cleaning roller holder 38, through which the cleaning roller 26 can be acted upon with cleaning fluid.

The invention has for its object to provide a surface cleaning machine of the type mentioned, with which optimal cleaning results on a surface to be cleaned and in particular a hard surface to be cleaned.

This object is achieved according to the invention in the surface cleaning machine mentioned at the outset in that the sweeping element is immersed, at least in one cleaning operation, with a front area in a trim of the at least one cleaning roller, a front end of the sweeping element being arranged on the front area.

The front end of the sweeping element is then immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller in the cleaning operation.

Coarse dirt is fed to the at least one cleaning roller through the sweeping element. This is then carried along by the at least one cleaning roller and can be suctioned off via at least one suction mouth. By providing a sweeping element which is immersed with a front area in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller, a constant adjustment of the sweeping element to a surface to be cleaned is possible. It is thereby ensured that a sweeping edge (as the line of contact of the sweeping element on the surface to be cleaned) can form in the cleaning operation in order to be able to supply coarse dirt to the at least one cleaning roller.

By immersing the sweeping element with its front area into the trim of the at least one cleaning roller, a pile depth of the trim is actively used to a certain extent, in order to enable constant adaptation to the surface to be cleaned.

In particular, it can be achieved that, regardless of an angular position of the surface cleaning machine with respect to the surface to be cleaned, an at least approximately constant distance between the sweeping edge with which the sweeping element rests on the surface to be cleaned and the at least one cleaning roller is reached to prevent coarse dirt to be able to sweep up.

In particular, the front area is designed to be elastic in such a way that it is immersed in the trim due to the weight of the surface cleaning machine when the surface cleaning machine is set up on a surface to be cleaned with the at least one cleaning roller. The weight of the surface cleaning machine causes an elastic deformation (in particular bending) on the sweeping element and thus immersion in the trim. A safe immersion can thereby be achieved, whereby immersion can also be ensured if the angle of the surface cleaning machine varies with the surface to be cleaned. There is no need to provide an additional device to achieve a preload; the weight of the surface cleaning machine ensures the corresponding "preload" in the cleaning operation.

In particular, at least in one cleaning operation of the surface cleaning machine, the front end is at a distance from an outside of the trim in a range between 5 percent and 80 percent based on a thickness of the trim. This results in an optimized sweeping result with the sweeping element resting on a sweeping edge on the surface to be cleaned. The formation of a sweeping edge is independent of a pivoting position of the surface cleaning machine relative to the surface to be cleaned.

In one embodiment, the sweeping element is formed at least in two parts with a first part and a second part, the second part having a higher elasticity than the first part and the front region being arranged or formed on the second part. A functional separation on the sweeping element can be achieved by a two-part design. The second part can be designed with greater elasticity in order to ensure that the front area is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller at least in one cleaning operation. The first part is used to hold and position the second part.

The first part also serves to guide the flow of fluid to one or more suction mouths.

In particular, it is provided that the first part has no elasticity that is functional for the sweeping element. The first part can have an inherent elasticity that is so low that the first part cannot deflect elastically in a normal operating mode. For example, the first part is made of a glass fiber reinforced plastic.

The second part has, in particular, a Shore hardness in the range between 70 and 90 in order to enable elastic evasion. The second part is made of an elastomer, for example.

It is particularly advantageous if the sweeping element is designed such that a sweeping edge is always on the second part in the cleaning operation. The sweeping edge is the contact line with which the sweeping element on the cleansing surface. The design mentioned ensures that the sweeping edge lies against the elastic part of the sweeping element in the cleaning operation. The front area of the sweeping element, which in turn forms or is formed on the second part, is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller.

In particular, the second part follows the first part in a circumferential direction and in particular the second part is connected to the first part. This allows a one-piece (but multi-part) sweeping element to be provided, which enables an optimized sweeping result.

In particular, the first part facing the cleaning roller has a cylindrical outer surface. This cylindrical lateral surface forms a "smooth" flow guiding surface, along which a fluid flow can be passed for suction.

It is particularly advantageous if the sweeping element is produced by a multi-component injection molding process and in particular a two-component injection molding process. This makes it possible to produce a sweeping element that is multi-part in terms of its functionality, but is designed in one piece. This one-piece sweeping element can be easily fixed to the cleaning roller holder and clipped on there, for example. Using a multi-component injection molding process, different material properties can easily be set for the first part and the second part. In particular, different elastic properties can be set.

It is favorable if in the front area or in a partial section of the front area a thickness of the sweeping element tapers towards the front end. As a result, immersion in the stocking of the at least one cleaning roller can be achieved in a simple manner.

It is also expedient if the front area is designed such that, at least in one cleaning operation, a distance of an outside of the front area facing the at least one cleaning roller to an axis of rotation of the cleaning roller decreases in at least one section towards the front end. This ensures that the front area of the sweeping element is immersed in the trimmings of the at least one cleaning roller with the advantages described above.

It is expedient if the sweeping element has a first area and a second area, which follow one another along an axis of rotation of the sweeping element of the at least one cleaning roller, at least one continuous recess being arranged between the first area and the second area. A shaft of the at least one cleaning roller can, for example, be coupled to a corresponding drive device through the continuous recess. This makes it possible to implement a central drive for the at least one cleaning roller. This in turn provides a high level of edge cleaning capability on both sides for the corresponding surface cleaning machine.

For the same reasons, it is advantageous if the at least one cleaning roller is formed at least in two parts, with a first part which is assigned to the first region of the sweeping element and a second part which is assigned to the second region of the sweeping element, one or more Coupling elements of the drive device, which couple the drive device to the at least one cleaning roller, through which at least one continuous recess is immersed. A surface cleaning machine with a central drive of the at least one cleaning roller can thereby be realized. Then it is not, for example more necessary to store the at least one cleaning roller on the outside. This in turn gives high cleaning performance on both sides, even at edge areas.

It is expedient if the first region and the second region of the sweeping element are connected via a web. In particular, the sweeping element can thereby be formed as one part.

A sliding surface can be formed on the web, an associated counter-sliding surface in particular being free of trimmings. The associated counter-sliding surface is arranged, for example, on the at least one cleaning roller or a shaft for the at least one cleaning roller.

It is very particularly advantageous if, in a cleaning operation of the surface cleaning machine, in which the at least one cleaning roller is placed on a surface to be cleaned, the front end face is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller and is not in contact with the surface to be cleaned, and in particular that a sweeping edge, which abuts the surface to be cleaned, is spaced apart from the front end. This makes it possible to ensure that the front area is immersed and, on the other hand, a sweeping edge can form, which is a contact line of the sweeping element on the surface to be cleaned. As a result, coarse dirt can be fed in via the sweeping element of the at least one cleaning roller even when an angle position of the surface cleaning machine relative to the surface to be cleaned is varied.

In one exemplary embodiment, the sweeping element is fixedly arranged on the cleaning roller holder and in particular is arranged on the cleaning roller holder in a non-displaceable and non-rotatable manner. It is possible for the sweeping element and in particular a portion of the sweeping element to move relative to the cleaning roller holder via an elastic design or elastic partial design of the sweeping element.

In an alternative embodiment, the sweeping element is arranged to be movable and in particular rotatable on the cleaning roller holder. The rotatable mobility of the sweeping element allows a corresponding adjustment. It is also advantageous here if a front area of the sweeping element is immersed in the trim of the at least one cleaning roller.

It is expedient if, in the case of a cleaning operation with the surface cleaning machine being pushed forward, a direction of rotation of the at least one cleaning roller is clockwise. This results in an optimized dirt release effect.

It is furthermore favorable if, when pushing the surface cleaning machine with at least one cleaning roller placed on a surface to be cleaned in a forward direction, the sweeping element facing away from the forward direction covers the at least one cleaning roller to the rear and on the surface to be cleaned over at least a length of at least a cleaning roller is applied. This results in an optimized sweeping function. In particular, there is a gap between a sweeping edge (over which the sweeping element rests on the surface to be cleaned) and the at least one cleaning roller. This gap is dimensioned such that coarse dirt that accumulates on the sweeping element can be taken along by the at least one rotating cleaning roller.

The sweeping edge lies in particular on an elastic region of the sweeping element.

It is also advantageous if a moistening device is provided for the cleaning roller. This allows the rotating cleaning roller to be moistened directly or indirectly. In the case of direct moistening, cleaning liquid is applied directly to the at least one cleaning roller. In the case of indirect moistening, cleaning liquid is applied to the surface to be cleaned and the at least one cleaning roller absorbs liquid from there. A combination of direct and indirect moistening is also possible. The cleaning liquid provided by the moistening device makes it easier to loosen and take away dirt on the surface to be cleaned.

A first embodiment of a surface cleaning machine according to the invention, which in Figure 10 is shown for cleaning (hard) floors. It is therefore a floor cleaning machine. The surface floor cleaning machine 10 comprises a device body 12 with a housing 14. Components of the surface floor cleaning machine 10 are arranged in a protected manner in the housing 14.

In one embodiment, a suction unit 16 is arranged in the housing 14, which comprises a blower device and a motor device (in particular an electric motor device) for driving the blower device. A suction flow is generated via the suction unit 16 in order to effect suction on a cleaning head 18.

A separator device 20 is also arranged in the housing 14 and separates solid and liquid components from one another in a suction flow. Furthermore, a tank device 22 for (sucked in) dirty liquid is arranged in the housing 14. The tank device 22 is in particular removably positioned on the housing 14.

The surface cleaning machine 10 comprises a moistening device 24, via which cleaning liquid (water or water with an additional cleaning agent) can be provided to a cleaning roller 26 of the cleaning head 18. A tank device 28 for cleaning liquid is arranged in the housing 14 and provides the cleaning device 24 with this cleaning liquid.

The surface cleaning machine 10 is hand-held. A holder 30 is arranged on the device body 12. This holder 30 comprises a holding rod 32, at the end region of which a handle 34 is seated. The handle 34 is designed in particular as a bow handle. Operating elements and in particular a switch for switching on or off corresponding devices of the surface cleaning machine 10 are arranged in the region of the handle 34.

A winding device 36 for a mains cable can be arranged on the holding rod 32.

The cleaning head 18 is positioned on the device body 12 at an end facing away from the handle 34. For example, it is pivotally arranged on the device body 12.

The cleaning head 18 comprises a cleaning roller holder 38, on which the cleaning roller 26 is seated.

The cleaning roller 26 is assigned a drive device 40, which in particular comprises a drive motor. The drive device 40 is arranged in the housing 14 or arranged in the cleaning head 18.

In one embodiment, part of the drive device 40 is arranged in the housing 14 and part is arranged on the cleaning head 18.

The drive device 40 comprises in particular an electric motor. This provides a torque for the rotary drive of the cleaning roller 26 about an axis of rotation 42.

When the surface cleaning machine 10 is in operation, it is placed on the surface to be cleaned via the cleaning roller 26 and is supported on the surface solely by the cleaning roller 26.

A pivot axis 44 for such an angular movement (see also the Figures 9 (a) and 9 (b) ) is formed by the contact area of the cleaning roller 26 on a surface 46 to be cleaned.

A pivot axis 48 for a possible pivotability of the cleaning head 18 relative to the device body 12 lies transversely to this pivot axis 44 or transversely to the axis of rotation 42.

The cleaning roller 26 has a longitudinal axis 50. This longitudinal axis 50 is coaxial with the axis of rotation 42. When cleaning the surface cleaning machine 10, the longitudinal axis 50 is coaxial with the surface 46 to be cleaned. The pivot axis 44 for pivoting the entire device 10 relative to the surface 46 to be cleaned is at least approximately parallel to this longitudinal axis 50.

The cleaning roller 26 is as in Figure 2 indicated with the reference numeral 52, provided with a trim.

The cleaning head 18 (see also the Figures 3 to 8 ) with the cleaning roller holder 38 is provided for a particularly releasable connection to the device body 12. It comprises a nozzle 54 arranged on the cleaning roller holder 38, via which a pivotable mounting of the cleaning head 38 on the device body 12 is realized.

One or more liquid lines 56 lead from the moistening device 24, which is arranged in particular on the housing 14, to the moistening device 24 of the cleaning head 18. Nozzles are arranged on the cleaning roller holder 38, through which the cleaning roller 26 can be acted upon with cleaning fluid.

It is alternatively or additionally possible that the nozzle (s) are arranged such that cleaning liquid is directly applied to the surface 46 to be cleaned and then indirectly the cleaning roller 26 by taking up cleaning liquid from the surface 46 to be cleaned.

For operation of the surface cleaning machine 10, it is provided in particular that the cleaning liquid is not applied directly to the surface to be cleaned 46 is applied, but the cleaning roller 26 is moistened with its trim 52 and then the moistened cleaning roller 26 acts on the surface 46 to be cleaned.

Ein solcher Anschluss 58 steht in fluidwirksamer Verbindung über eine oder mehrere Saugleitungen mit dem Saugaggregat 16.Furthermore, one or more connections 58 for a suction stream are provided on the cleaning head 18 and thereby on the cleaning roller holder 38. Such a connection 58 is in fluid-effective connection with the suction unit 16 via one or more suction lines.

On the cleaning roller holder 38 there is (at least) one suction mouth 60 (cf. Figure 7 ) arranged, which is aligned with the cleaning roller 26. The suction mouth 60 is in fluid-effective connection with the connection 58 and thus with the suction unit 16. A vacuum flow acts on the suction mouth 60. Dirt is sucked through this.

In one embodiment, the suction mouth 60, when the cleaning roller 26 is placed on the surface 46 to be cleaned, is arranged above the cleaning roller 26 with respect to the surface 46 to be cleaned.

In one exemplary embodiment, the suction mouth 60 has a first mouth wall 62 and a second mouth wall 64. Between these, the suction mouth 60 is formed with a corresponding mouth opening. The first orifice wall 62 lies above the second orifice wall 64. The first orifice wall 62 and / or the second orifice wall 64 lie against the facing 52 of the cleaning roller 26 or in particular protrude into it. This embodiment is in the unpublished international patent application PCT / EP2013 / 076445 dated December 12, 2013 described by the same applicant. Full reference is made to this document.

The cleaning head 18 has a sweeping element 66 which is assigned to the cleaning roller 26.

In a ("normal") cleaning operation, the surface cleaning machine 10 is, for example, in a forward direction 68 (see Figure 1 ) pushed forward. The cleaning roller 26 rotates clockwise 70. A region of the cleaning roller 26 is moistened by the moistening device 24 before contact with the surface 46 to be cleaned. This area then rotates toward the surface 46 to be cleaned. Dirt is loosened. The rotation of the cleaning roller 26 on the surface 46 to be cleaned takes dirt away and supplies it to the suction mouth 60. Suction can take place there.

Coarse dirt can be "collected" by the sweeping element 66, which was not taken directly by the cleaning roller 26, for example, and then taken away by the cleaning roller 26.

The sweeping element 66 is arranged on the cleaning roller holder 38. The sweeping element 66 is translationally transported via the fixation on the cleaning roller holder 38. The sweeping element 66 is mechanically decoupled from the rotation of the cleaning roller 26.

Das Kehrelement 66 liegt in einem Normalbetrieb an der zu reinigenden Fläche 46 an.In a cleaning operation, the sweeping element 66 covers a rear side of the cleaning head 18, the rear side lying behind the cleaning roller 26 in the opposite direction to the forward direction 68. The sweeping element 66 extends at least and in particular essentially exactly over the length of the cleaning roller 26 in the longitudinal axis 50. In normal operation, the sweeping element 66 lies against the surface 46 to be cleaned.

In normal operation, the sweeping element 66 is positioned between the surface 46 to be cleaned and the suction mouth 60.

The sweeping element 66 is rotatably held on the cleaning roller holder 38. An axis of rotation 71 (compare, for example Figure 3 ) for the rotatability of the sweeping element 66 on the cleaning roller holder 38 is parallel and in particular coaxial with the axis of rotation 42 of the rotation of the cleaning roller 26.

The sweeping element 66 is guided in particular on a circular path.

For this purpose, the cleaning roller holder 38 is provided with a first guide device 72 for the sweeping element 66. The first guide device 72 ( Figures 2 to 6 ) is arranged on an inner side 74 of the cleaning roller holder 38, which faces the cleaning roller 26.

The sweeping element 66 is provided with a second guide device 76, which cooperates with the first guide device 72 of the cleaning roller holder 38 for guiding the sweeping element 66 on a circular path on the cleaning roller holder 38.

The second guide device 76 ( Figure 5 ) has guide elements 78a, 78b arranged on the end faces of the sweeping element 66. The guide elements 78a, 78b each have an immersion area 80, for example in the form of a dovetail.

Associated with the guide elements 78a, 78b, the first guide device 72 has guide tracks 82 on each end face of the cleaning roller holder 38, in which the respective immersion area 80 is immersed. This results in a positive guidance (on a circular path) of the sweeping element 66 on the cleaning roller holder 38.

The drive device 40 comprises a gear device 84. This in turn comprises a partial area 86 ( Figures 2 to 4 ), which is arranged facing the inside 74 on the cleaning roller holder 38. This area 86 is arranged centrally between opposite end faces 88a, 88b of the cleaning roller holder 38.

The cleaning roller 26 is formed, for example, in two parts and is located on the region 86 and is driven by this.

An dem Reinigungswalzen-Halter 38 sitzt an der Innenseite 74 mittig zwischen den Stirnseiten 88a, 88b ein Teiler 90. Dieser dient dazu, Schmutz bzw. Schmutzfluid nach links und rechts aufzuteilen.A divider 90 sits on the inside of the cleaning roller holder 38 on the inside 74 between the end faces 88a, 88b. This divider serves to divide the dirt or dirt fluid to the left and right.

The sweeping element 66 comprises a sliding area 94. This sliding area 94 is designed, for example, as a cylinder shell or part of a cylinder shell. The sliding area 94 is made, for example, from a metal material and, for example, from a metal sheet.

The sliding area 94 bears against the inside 74 of the cleaning roller holder 38 and slides on the sweeping element 66 when the cleaning element 66 rotates.

A contact area 96 sits on the sliding area 94 of the sweeping element 66. The contact area 96 forms a contact lip on the surface 46 to be cleaned. The contact area 96 is made of an elastic material and in particular rubber material in order to achieve a good adaptable contact with the surface 46 to be cleaned.

The sliding area 94 forms a first part of the sweeping element 66 and the contact area 96 forms a second part of the sweeping element 66.

The contact area 96 is a front area of the sweeping element 66, which has a front end 97.

In principle, the sliding area 94 can be produced with such a rigidity that no flexible deformation takes place in normal operation.

In an alternative embodiment, the sliding area 94 is made so flexible that a bulge away from the cleaning roller 26 is possible to the rear (against the forward direction 68). Such a bulge can due to the accumulation of dirt and can possibly increase the cleaning effect.

The sweeping element 66 is additionally supported on the cleaning roller holder 38 via an elastic device 98 ( Figures 5 to 7 ). The elastic device 98 provides a spring force 100 which tends to press the sweeping element 66 with the contact area 96 onto the surface 46 to be cleaned. This spring force 100 causes the sweeping element 66 to rotate in a counterclockwise direction relative to the cleaning roller holder 38. The spring force 100 endeavors to achieve a maximum (rotational) deflection of the sweeping element 66 towards the cleaning roller holder 38.

This maximum rotatability is limited by a stop. In particular, a stop of the guide elements 78a, 78b on a corresponding stop element of the guide track 82 limits further rotatability.

For a rotation of the sweeping element 66 relative to the cleaning roller holder 38 clockwise (in Figure 9 (a) indicated by reference numeral 104), the spring force 100 of the elastic device 98 must be overcome.

The elastic device 98 is in particular designed such that the weight G of the surface cleaning machine 10 is sufficient to overcome the spring force.

Furthermore, the elastic device is designed so that the sweeping element 66 does not slide under the action of the spring force 100 under the cleaning roller 26 and lifts it off. The appropriate dimensioning of the elastic device 98 thus prevents the cleaning roller 26 from being lifted off by the sweeping element 66.

By changing an angular position 106 of the surface floor cleaning machine 10 (based on a longitudinal axis 108 of this machine), the sweeping element 66 is then automatically brought into a correct rotational position relative to the cleaning roller holder 38. As a result, an optimal sweeping result and thus cleaning result can be achieved independently of the angular position 106 of the surface floor cleaning machine 10.

An angular range for the rotatability of the sweeping element 66 on the cleaning roller holder 38 on its circular path is in the range of at least 20 ° and in particular at least 30 ° and in particular at least 40 °. In one embodiment, this angular range is approximately 55 °. A starting position (zero angle) is defined by minimal deflection. For this purpose, a stop 102 is arranged on the sweeping element 66 ( Figure 8 ). The cleaning roller holder 38 has a counter element 103 and when the stop 102 bears against the counter element 103, the starting position (0 ° position) is present. Starting from this position, rotation in the angular range mentioned can then be made possible.

As already mentioned above, the specific rotational position of the sweeping element 66 relative to the cleaning roller holder 38 and thus the angle of rotation based on the starting position depends on the angular position 106 of the surface cleaning machine 10 relative to the surface 46 to be cleaned.

The elastic device 98 comprises a spring device 110 which is supported on the cleaning roller holder 38 at one end 112 and is supported on the sweeping element 66 at an opposite end 114 in order to be able to exert the corresponding spring force 100 for rotating the sweeping element 66. (If the cleaning head 18 sits immovably on the device body 12, then the spring device 110 can also be supported on the device body 12 at the end 112.)

In one exemplary embodiment, the spring device 110 comprises a first spring 116 and a second spring 118. The first spring 116 and the second spring 118 are designed, for example, as coil springs.

The first spring 116 and the second spring 118 are spaced in a direction between end faces of the sweeping element 66.

The first spring 116 and the second spring 118 are arranged such that part of the drive device 40 is guided to the region 86 between them.

The divider 90 lies between the first spring 116 and the second spring 118.

Eine Schwenkachse des Schwenklagers 124 liegt parallel zur Drehachse 71 des Kehrelements 66.To fix the spring device 110, a support element 120 is arranged on the cleaning roller holder 38, each associated with the first spring 116 and the second spring 118. A first housing part 122 is pivotably connected to a pivot bearing 124 on this support element 120. A pivot axis of the pivot bearing 124 is parallel to the axis of rotation 71 of the sweeping element 66.

Das erste Gehäuseteil 122 ist beispielsweise zylindrisch ausgebildet. The first housing part 122 is cylindrical, for example.

The corresponding spring 116 or 118 is supported on its end 112 on a base 126 of this first housing part 122, this base 126 being closest to the pivot bearing 124.

A second housing part 128 is also provided. This second housing part 128 is pushed onto the first housing part 122 like a sleeve.

The second housing part 128 is articulated to the sweeping element 66 via a pivot bearing 130. A pivot axis of the pivot bearing 130 is parallel to the pivot axis of the pivot bearing 124 and thus parallel to the axis of rotation 71.

The second housing part 128 has a bottom 132 which is closest to the pivot bearing 130. The corresponding spring 116 or 118 is supported on the bottom 132 via the end 114.

A housing is formed by the first housing part 122 and the second housing part 128. The corresponding spring 116 or 118 is protected in the interior thereof.

Due to the pivotable articulation of the spring 116 or 118 both on the cleaning roller holder 38 and on the sweeping element 66 via the first housing part 122 and the second housing part 128, the spring force 100 can open the sweeping element 66 to the cleaning whale holder 38 in any rotational position the corresponding circular path.

The surface cleaning machine 10 functions for cleaning a surface 46 to be cleaned (for example a floor surface) as follows:
The surface cleaning machine 10 is placed with the cleaning roller 26 onto the surface 46 to be cleaned with a contact line 47. An operator holds the surface cleaning machine 10, for example, with one hand on the handle 34. In the process, he sets an angular position 106 of the surface cleaning machine 10 to the surface 46 to be cleaned. This angular position 106 can be varied (compare Figure 9 (b) ) to perform cleaning under a piece of furniture, for example.

The surface cleaning machine 10 is started by actuating a switch. A rotation of the cleaning roller 26 about the axis of rotation 42 is actuated. This is driven by the drive device 40. Furthermore, the suction unit 16 is actuated, which generates a suction flow which acts on the cleaning roller 26 at the suction mouth 60. Furthermore, the cleaning roller 26 is moistened by the moistening device 24.

For example, if the surface cleaning machine 10 is advanced in the forward direction 68 ( Figure 1 ) is provided, then the cleaning roller 26 preferably rotates clockwise 70.

The moist cleaning roller 26 applies moisture to the surface 46 to be cleaned and dirt is loosened in the process. The rotation of the cleaning roller 26 on the surface 46 to be cleaned causes dirt to be carried along by the cleaning roller 26. At the suction mouth 60, suction takes place.

The sweeping element 66 serves to collect coarse dirt which was not (initially) taken away by the cleaning roller 26 and to be made available to the cleaning roller 26. This coarse dirt can then be taken along by the cleaning roller 26 and suctioned off. The sweeping element 66 abuts with a sweeping edge 67 on the surface 46 to be cleaned via a contact line 69.

The contact area 96 lies against the surface 46 to be cleaned and provides for a corresponding entrainment.

In normal operation of the surface cleaning machine 10, the front end 97 of the sweeping element 66 is spaced apart from the sweeping edge 67. The sweeping element 66 penetrates into the trim 52 of the cleaning roller 26 with a portion of a second part 96 (the contact area 96). The front end 97 is immersed in the trim 52. It is immersed in the material, such as the fleece material of the trim 52. This results in a good sweeping result.

The immersion of the sweeping element in the trim 52 is explained in more detail below with reference to the fourth exemplary embodiment.

The sweeping element 66 is rotatably held on the cleaning roller holder 38 in the embodiment described above. The sweeping element 66 is spring-loaded by the elastic device 98.

Die Federkraft 100 der elastischen Einrichtung 98 drückt diesen Anlagebereich 96 mit der Kehrkante 67 an die zu reinigende Fläche 46.This automatically ensures that, in all angular positions 106 of the surface cleaning machine 10 relative to the surface 46 to be cleaned, the sweeping element 66 with the contact area 96 bears against the surface 46 to be cleaned. The spring force 100 of the elastic device 98 presses this contact area 96 with the sweeping edge 67 against the surface 46 to be cleaned.

If the angle 106 is reduced (compare Figure 9 (b) ), then can be moved by the rotational mobility of the sweeping element 66. Moving in a clockwise direction 104 while overcoming the spring force 100. In particular, the weight G of the surface cleaning machine 10 is sufficient to overcome the spring force 100 accordingly. If necessary, a (slight) pressure by the operator can ensure the movement.

A distance D between the contact lines 69 and 47 (as the distance between the contact points of the sweeping element 66 and the cleaning roller 26 on the surface 46 to be cleaned) is minimized regardless of the angle 106.

As a result, a substantially constant distance (gap) is achieved between the rotating cleaning roller 26 and the sweeping element 66 and in particular between the contact area 96 when it contacts the surface 46 to be cleaned and a contact area of the cleaning roller 26 on the surface 46 to be cleaned. There is no offset. The sweeping element 66 with a sweeping edge ensures that coarse dirt is swept up and discharge via the cleaning roller 26 is ensured at every angular position 106.

Due to the variability of the angular position 106, a constant distance is ensured by the rotational mobility of the sweeping element 66 on the cleaning roller holder 38. A region between the sweeping element 66 and the Cleaning roller 26 forms a suction channel 134, which is in fluid communication with the suction mouth 60. The rotational mobility of the sweeping element 66 variably bridges an arc length between the surface 46 to be cleaned and a projection of an opening of the channel 132 onto the surface 46 to be cleaned, and the corresponding distance is kept essentially the same regardless of the angular position 126.

Regardless of the angular position 106 of the surface cleaning machine 10, coarse dirt that accumulates on the sweeping element 66 can be swept up and removed with the cleaning roller 26.

With its spring force 100, the elastic device 98 causes the sweeping element 66 to be reset if, for example, the angle for an angular position 106 is increased (transition from the position according to FIG Figure 9 (b) to the position according to Figure 9 (a) ).

As already mentioned above, the sliding area 94 of the sweeping element 66 can in principle be stiff. In a flexible embodiment, a bulge away from the cleaning roller 26 can be permitted. Coarse dirt can then accumulate in a corresponding bulge area, particularly when lowering (reducing the angle for the angular position 106). When the surface cleaning machine 10 is raised (increasing the angle of the angular position 106), this accumulated coarse dirt can then be removed.

In a second embodiment, which in Figure 10 is shown schematically, the cleaning head is basically the same as described above. The same reference numerals are used for the same elements. This embodiment differs in the design of the elastic device. An elastic device 134 is provided here. The elastic device 134 in each case comprises torsion springs 136 arranged on the end face of the corresponding sweeping element 66. A torsion spring 136 is supported in each case on the sweeping element 66. Furthermore, one is supported Torsion spring 136 on an element 138, which is part of the cleaning roller holder 38 or is fixedly connected to it. This element 138 is arranged in an interior 140 of the cleaning roller holder 38. The cleaning roller 26 is also positioned in this interior space 140.

The element 138 is, for example, a rod which lies coaxially with the cleaning roller 26 and, for example, lies in an interior of the cleaning roller 36. The cleaning roller 36 is designed in particular as a hollow roller.

In a third embodiment ( Figure 11 ) an elastic device 142 is provided which has a rubber spring 144 for generating the spring force 100. This rubber spring 144 is in turn supported on the cleaning roller holder 38 and the sweeping element 66.

Die Teile der Flächen-Reinigungsmaschine außerhalb des Walzenbereichs 200 entsprechen der Flächen-Reinigungsmaschine 10.A fourth exemplary embodiment of a surface cleaning machine according to the invention comprises a cleaning head with a roller region, which in the Figures 12 to 14 shown and there designated 200. The parts of the surface cleaning machine outside the roller region 200 correspond to the surface cleaning machine 10.

The roller region 200 comprises a cleaning roller 202, which is basically of the same design as the cleaning roller 26 described above. The cleaning roller 202 is held on a cleaning roller holder 204.

The cleaning roller 202 is held on the cleaning roller holder 204 so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation corresponding to the axis of rotation 42. The drive device 40 is provided for driving the rotation.

In one exemplary embodiment, the cleaning roller 202 has a sleeve 206, on which a trim corresponding to the trim 52 is arranged. The trim 52 is fixed in the manner of a cylinder jacket on the sleeve 206.

The sleeve 206 is rotatably mounted about the axis of rotation 42 on the cleaning roller holder 204 and is driven in its rotational movement by the drive device 40.

In one exemplary embodiment, the cleaning roller 202 has a first part 208 and a second part 210 with the respective sleeve part of the sleeve 206. The second part 210 is in Figure 12 only hinted at.

The first part 208 and the second part 210 follow one another in a longitudinal direction 212 of the cleaning roller 202. The longitudinal direction 212 is parallel and in particular coaxial to the axis of rotation 42.

In one exemplary embodiment, a shaft 213 is rotatably mounted centrally (centrally) on the cleaning roller holder 204, the central bearing being related to a longitudinal direction of the cleaning roller holder 204. This longitudinal direction of the cleaning roller holder 204 is parallel to the longitudinal direction 212 of the cleaning roller 202. The shaft 213 has a length in the longitudinal direction 212 which is smaller and in particular is considerably smaller than the length of the cleaning roller holder 204 in this direction in the region of the Cleaning roller 202.

On one side of the shaft 213 towards the outside, the first part 208 is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner via its sleeve part. On the opposite other side of the shaft 213, the second part 210 of the cleaning roller 202 is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner via its sleeve part.

The first part 208 and the second part 210 are each provided with the trim 52. A central region 214, which lies between the first part 208 and the second part 210, is free of the trim 52. The shaft 213 is positioned in this central region 214, with a band-shaped region 216 of the shaft 213 in the central region 214 Forms outside of the cleaning roller 202. (On the first part 208 and the second part 210, one corresponding outside of the cleaning roller 202 formed over a surface of the trimmings 52.)

The cleaning roller holder 204 has a holding area 218 for a sweeping element 220 facing the cleaning roller 202. The holding area 218 has, in particular, a cylindrical surface facing the cleaning roller 202.

The sweeping element 220 is formed in two parts with a first part 222 and a second part 224. The sweeping element 220 is fixed to the holding area via the first part 222 and, for example, screwed and / or glued to it and / or clipped onto the cleaning roller holder 204.

The first part of the sweeping element 222 has a cylindrical outer surface 226 facing the cleaning roller 220.

The front region 228 is formed on the second part 224. The sweeping element has a front end 230 on the front region 228. The front end 230 extends substantially parallel to the axis of rotation 42 of the cleaning roller 202.

The second part 224 is connected to the first part 222. In particular, the sweeping element 220 is produced by a multi-component injection molding process, and in particular is produced by a two-component injection molding process.

The second part 224 has different material properties than the first part 222. In particular, the second part 224 and the first part 222 are made of plastic material, the material for the second part 224 having greater elasticity than the material for the first part 222.

The first part 222 is essentially inelastic. It is made in particular from a fiber-reinforced plastic material such as glass fiber-reinforced plastic. Any inherent elasticity is such that it is not functional for the sweeping element 220.

The first part 222 is made, for example, of a glass fiber reinforced polyamide plastic material.

The second part 224 preferably has a Shore hardness which is in the range between 70 and 90.

The second part 224 is formed in such a way that the front area 228 is elastically movable with respect to the first part 222.

The sweeping element 220 (compare also Figure 14 ) has an extension direction parallel to the longitudinal direction 212.

In one exemplary embodiment, a fixing device 232 is arranged on the first part 222, which has tabs 234 or the like, into which corresponding counter-elements of the cleaning roller holder 204 can be immersed in order to enable fixing, for example by gluing or by positive locking.

The sweeping element 220 has a first region 236, which is assigned to the first part 222 of the cleaning roller 202. It also has a second area 238, which is assigned to the second part 224 of the cleaning roller 202. The first part 222 and the second part 224 are formed both on the first region 236 and on the second region 238.

Both in the first region 236 and in the second region 238, the second part 224 follows the first part 222 in a circumferential direction 240 (in relation to the axis of rotation 42 of the cleaning roller 202) with a connecting region between the first part 222 and the second part 224 .

Between the first area 236 and the second area 238, a continuous recess 242 is associated with the central area 214. Through the continuous recess 242, one or more coupling elements of the drive device 40 are immersed, which couple the shaft 213 with a drive motor of the drive device 40 in a torque-effective manner.

The first region 236 and the second region 238 are connected to one another by a web 244. The web 244 is arranged in the region of the continuous recess 242, that is to say the continuous recess 242 adjoins the web 244.

In one exemplary embodiment, the web 244 has a sliding surface 246 associated with the cleaning roller 202. A counter sliding surface 248 is assigned to the sliding surface 246, in particular on the shaft 213. The rotating shaft 213, on which the cleaning roller 202 is seated, can slide on the sliding surface 246 via the counter sliding surface 248.

The sweeping element 220 sits firmly and in particular immovably and non-rotatably on the cleaning roller holder 204. As mentioned above, the second part 224 can be moved flexibly, with no longitudinal displacement and rotation of the second part 224 being possible. In particular, the second part 224 is integrally connected to the first part 222.

The second part 224 is designed such that at least in a cleaning operation in which the surface cleaning machine 10 is placed on the surface 46 to be cleaned via the cleaning roller 202 is immersed in the trim 52 and in particular the nonwoven material of the cleaning roller 202 (cf. Figure 13 ).

In a cleaning operation, the cleaning roller 202 has a thickness D ( Figure 13 ) on. (If the surface cleaning machine is placed over the cleaning roller 202 on the surface 46 to be cleaned, then the trim 52 is compressed in relation to the sleeve 206. The thickness D is usually smaller than a corresponding thickness when the cleaning roller 202 is not attached .)

The front area 228 is immersed in the trim 52 in the cleaning operation in such a way that a distance A is at least 5 percent of the thickness D and in particular is in the range between 5 percent and 80 percent of the thickness D.

By immersing the front area 228 of the sweeping element 220 in the trim 52, the sweeping element 220 can be continuously adjusted to the surface 46 to be cleaned. To a certain extent, a pile depth of the trimmings 52 is used in order to achieve a constant alignment of the sweeping element 220 with the floor.

The sweeping element 220 has a sweeping edge 67 with which the sweeping element 220 bears against the surface 46 to be cleaned. Due to the abutment of the sweeping edge 67, "swept" dirt is fed to the cleaning roller 202 and carried along by it.

Basically, depending on a relative position of the device body 12 to the surface 46 to be cleaned, the sweeping edge 67 can lie at different points of the sweeping element 220.

The front end 230, which is immersed in the trim 52, is spaced apart from the sweeping edge 67.

The sweeping edge 67 is arranged on the second part 224. The sweeping element 220 is dimensioned such that when the surface cleaning machine 10 is used as intended, the sweeping edge 67 has sweeping functionality for everyone The angular position of the surface cleaning machine 10 relative to the surface 46 to be cleaned lies on the second part 224 when the cleaning roller 202 is placed on the surface 46 to be cleaned.

The second part 224 of the sweeping element 220 has an area which changes in its cross section (in its thickness d in accordance with FIG Figure 13 ) reduced to the front end 230. In this area, the front area 228 is wedge-shaped in cross section.

At least in cleaning operation, the sweeping element 220 is designed such that a distance from the front end 230 to the axis of rotation 42 is smaller than a distance from the first part 222 to this axis of rotation. This enables immersion.

The solution according to the invention works as follows:
The sweeping element 220 dips with a front area 228 in a cleaning operation into the trimmings 52 of the cleaning roller 202.

In one exemplary embodiment, the sweeping element 220 is arranged on the cleaning roller holder 204 in a non-displaceable and non-rotatable manner.

However, it is also possible for a sweeping element, for example, to be rotatably arranged, such as sweeping element 66, to be immersed with a front region in the trim 52 of the cleaning roller 26.

When cleaning the surface cleaning machine 10, it is placed on the surface 46 to be cleaned via the cleaning roller 26 or 202. Coarse dirt is swept up via the sweeping element 66 or 220 and is fed to the cleaning roller 26 or 202 without entraining effect and carried along by it.

Basically, an angle of the device body 12 to the surface 46 to be cleaned is variable.

202 erreicht.Through the formation of the sweeping element 66 or 220, this sweeping effect can be achieved regardless of the application angle of the surface cleaning machine 10 to the surface 46 to be cleaned. By immersing the sweeping element 66 or 220 with a front area 228 in the associated cleaning roller 26 or 202, a constant distance between the sweeping edge 67 and the corresponding cleaning roller 26 or 202 is achieved.

The sweeping element 220 is designed to be elastically flexible, the second part 224 in particular having greater elasticity than the first part 222. A corresponding force for immersed holding of the front area 228 can, as also with the sweeping element 66, be achieved by the dead weight of the surface cleaning machine during a cleaning operation when the cleaning roller 26, 202 is placed on the surface 46 to be cleaned.

Coarse dirt which is fed to the cleaning roller 26 or 202 via the sweeping element 66 or 220 can then be fed to the corresponding suction mouth 60 via the cleaning roller 26 or 202.

In the sweeping element 220, the second part 224 can deform in such a way that there is a constant alignment with the floor, that is to say that a sweeping edge 67 is always formed.

In principle, it is still possible for the sweeping element 220 to be designed so flexibly, in particular in the first part 222, that “bulging out” to the rear, ie away from the cleaning roller 202, is possible. Coarse dirt can then accumulate in such a “bulge area”, the area in particular being able to arise when the surface cleaning machine 10 is lowered onto the surface 46 to be cleaned. When the surface cleaning machine is stretched, the accumulated coarse dirt can be removed.

The facial expressions for the mobility of the second part 224 to the first part 222 due to their own elasticity can follow, for example, at least approximately a circular path or it can also be a pivoting about a defined pivoting axis (folding).

The sweeping element 220 is dimensioned such that at any angular position of the surface cleaning machine 10 relative to the surface 46 to be cleaned, a sweeping edge 67 can be formed, in particular on the second part 224, and the front area 228 is immersed in the trim 52 of the cleaning roller 202.
