Abstract
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate, aufgebaut aus einem Silikonkern a), der von einer oder mehreren Polymerhüllen b) umgeben ist, und gegebenenfalls zusätzlich einen oder mehrere Innenkerne c) enthält, welche vom Silikonanteil a) umgeben sind, wobei der Silikonanteil a) a1) einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten aus der Gruppe umfassend die allgemeine Formel [R12SiO2/2] enthält, und a2) von einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten aus der Gruppe umfassend die allgemeinen Formeln [R11-xR2x+1SiOR12/2], [R2SiO3/2] und [R12-yR2y+1SiO1/2] enthält, und a3) von einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten mit ethylenisch ungesättigten Gruppen oder Mercaptoalkylgruppen der allgemeinen Formel [R3aR4bSiOz/2], und gegebenenfalls a4) von einer oder mehreren tri-und tetrafunktionellen Struktureinheiten der allgemeinen Formeln [R1SiO3/2} und [SiO4/2] enthält, und die Polymerhülle b) ein Polymerisat von einem oder mehreren Monomeren aus der Gruppe umfassend ethylenisch ungesättigte Monomere ist, und der Innenkern c) ein Polymerisat von einem oder mehreren Mono- meren aus der Gruppe umfassend ethylenisch ungesättigte Monomere ist, wobei R1 gleiche oder verschiedene, gegebenenfalls substituierte, Alkylreste mit 1 bis 18 C-Atomen bedeutet, R2 gleiche oder verschiedene Reste mit in Konjugation stehenden Elektronenpaaren bedeutet, R3 gleiche oder verschiedene Reste der Formeln -(CH2)m-CR5=CH2, - (CH2)m+1-O(C=O)-CR5=CH2 und -(CH2)m+1-SH, bedeutet, R4 die Bedeutung von R1 oder R2 hat, R5 für H oder CH3 steht, und a = 0 bis (4-z), b = 0 bis (3-z), m = 0 bis 6, x = 0 oder 1 ist, und y = 0 bis 2, und z = 1 bis 3.
Description
Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisat
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisat zur Modifizierung von Thermoplasten oder Duroplasten, insbesondere von Formmassen auf der Basis von (Met ) acrylsäureester-
Polymerisaten, Verfahren zu deren Herstellung, sowie die Verwendung als Modifier, insbesondere Schlagzähmodifier .
Zur Verbesserung der Schlagfestigkeiten von Formmassen, welche aus harten, thermoplastischen Polymerisaten, wie Methacrylsäu- reester- oder Acrylsäureesterpolymerisaten, hergestellt werden, werden kautschukartige Materialien den harten Thermoplasten zugemischt. Bei diesen Materialien handelt es sich meist um Pfropfcopolymerisate mit einem elastomeren Silikon- oder Organopolymer-Kern und einer darauf aufgepfropften Polymerhülle.
Die US-A 4918132 beschreibt Schlagzähmodifier für Polyesterharze, aufgebaut aus einem Kern-Hülle-Polymerisat mit einem Kern aus einem Gemisch aus Polysiloxan- und (Meth) acrylat-
Kautschuk und einer Polymerhülle. Die WO-A 02/36682 und O-A 02/36683 beschreiben PMMA-Formmassen mit verbesserter Kälteschlagzähigkeit und einer Schlagzähmodifier-Mischung aus Silikonelastomer mit PMMA-Hülle und Acrylat-Kautschuk. Die EP-A 537014 beschreibt schlagzähmodifizierte Polycarbonate, wobei als Modifier Partikel mit Polysiloxan/Organopolymer-Kern und Organopolymer-Hülle eingesetzt werden. Kerbschlagzähe Silikonkautschuk-Pfropfpolymerisate mit Silikonkern und Organopolymerhülle sind aus der EP-A 258746 bekannt. Aus der EP-A 791617 sind Core-Shell-Schlagzähmodifier bestehend aus einem Polyac- rylatkern, einer ersten Silikonhülle und einer weiteren Poly- acrylathülle bekannt. Elastomere Pfropfcopolymerisate mit Kern-Hülle-Struktur sind auch aus der EP-A 492376 bekannt, wobei diese aus einem Polysiloxan-Kern, einer Organopolymerhülle und gegebenenfalls aus einer Polydialkylsiloxan-Zwischen- schicht bestehen. In der WO-A 03/066695 werden Silikonkautschukpolymerisate mit Kern-Hülle-Struktur beschrieben, welche
durch ein spezielles Verfahren zur Aufpfropfung der organischen Hülle erhalten werden. Die DE-A 10204890 betrifft Formassen aus Poly (meth) acrylat und Silikonkautschuk-Pfropfpoly¬ merisat, wobei der Silikonkern vor der Pfropfung Vinylreste enthält, und eine Mischung aus Acrylat und Methacrylat aufgepfropft wird.
Nachteilig bei den aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Schlag- zähmodifier auf Basis von Silikonelastomeren ist die Trübung der damit modifizierten Formmassen, aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Brechungsindizes von Thermoplast und Schlagzähmodifier , Aus der EP-A 62223 sind transparente, schlagzähe Formmassen bekannt, bei denen die Hartkomponente auf Basis eines Terpoly- mers aus Styrol, Acrylnitril und Methylmethacrylat mit einem Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuk modifiziert ist, welcher mit einer Schale gepfropft ist mit der gleichen Zusammensetzung wie die Hartkomponente. Die gleiche Zusammensetzung von Kautschuk- Schale und Hartkomponente bewirkt eine Angleichung der Brechungsindizes und trägt zur Bewahrung der Transparenz bei.
Es bestand daher die Aufgabe, einen Modifier auf Basis eines Polysiloxanelasto eren zu entwickeln, welcher im Brechungsindex den zu modifizierenden Thermoplasten oder Duroplasten, insbesondere (Meth) acrylsäureester-Polymerisaten, angenähert ist.
Überraschenderweise wurde gefunden, dass dies durch Einpolyme- risieren von Einheiten mit in Konjugation stehenden Elektronenpaaren in den Silikonkern ermöglicht wird.
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate, aufgebaut aus einem Silikonkern a) , der von einer oder mehreren Polymerhüllen b) umgeben ist, und gegebenenfalls zusätzlich einen oder mehrere Innenkerne c) enthält, welche vom Si- likonanteil a) umgeben sind, wobei der Silikonanteil a) al) einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten aus der Gruppe umfassend die allgemeine Formel [R12Siθ2/2] enthält, und
a2) von einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten aus der Gruppe umfassend die allgemeinen Formeln [R1ι-xR2 x+ιSiOR12/2] , [R2Si03/2] und [R12-yR2y+ιSiOι/2] enthält, und a3) von einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten mit ethylenisch ungesättigten Gruppen oder Mercaptoalkylgruppen der allgemei¬ nen Formel [R3 aR4 bSiOz/2] , und gegebenenfalls a4) von einer oder mehreren tri- und tetrafunktionellen Struktureinheiten der allgemeinen Formeln [R1Siθ3/2} und [Siθ4/2] enthält, und die Polymerhülle b) ein Polymerisat von einem oder mehreren Monomeren aus der Gruppe umfassend ethylenisch ungesättigte Monomere ist, und der Innenkern c) ein Polymerisat von einem oder mehreren Monomeren aus der Gruppe umfassend ethylenisch ungesättigte Mono- mere ist, wobei R1 gleiche oder verschiedene, gegebenenfalls substituierte, Alkylreste mit 1 bis 18 C-Atomen bedeutet, R2 gleiche oder verschiedene Reste mit in Konjugation stehenden Elektronenpaaren bedeutet, R3 gleiche oder verschiedene Reste der For- mein - (CH2) m-CR5=CH2, - (CH2) m+ι-0 (C=0) -CR5=CH2 und - (CH2) m+ι-SH, bedeutet, R4 die Bedeutung von R1 oder R2 hat, R5 für H oder CH3 steht, und a = 0 bis (4-z) , b = 0 bis (3-z) , m = 0 bis 6, x = 0 oder 1 ist, und y = 0 bis 2, und z = 1 bis 3.
Vorzugsweise sind die Reste R1 einwertige Alkylreste mit 1 bis 18 C-Atomen, welche gegebenenfalls ein- oder mehrfach mit Halogen-, Cyano-, Amino- oder Hydroxy-Resten substituiert sein können, und welche gegebenenfalls durch ein oder mehrere Hete- roatome aus der Gruppe umfassend Stickstoff, Sauerstoff, Schwefel unterbrochen sein können. Beispiele sind Methyl-,
Ethyl-, n-Propyl-, Isopropyl-, n-Butyl-, sec.-Butyl-, Amyl-, Hexylrest. Beispiele für substituierte Kohlenwasserstoffreste sind Halogenalkylreste wie Chlormethyl-, 3-Chlorpropyl-, 3- Brompropyl-, 3, 3, 3-Trifluorpropyl-, und 5, 5, 5, 4, 4, 3, 3-Hepta- fluorpentylrest; Cyanoalkylreste wie 2-Cyanoethyl- und 3-Cya- nopropylrest; Aminoalkylreste wie 3-Aminopropylrest; Hydroxy- alkylreste wie Hydroxypropylrest . Besonders bevorzugt sind
einwertige, Ci- bis C4-Alkylreste wie Methyl-, Ethyl-, Propyl- Rest; am meisten bevorzugt ist der Methylrest.
Beispielsweise können die Struktureinheiten al mit Dialkyldi- alkoxysilanen, wie Dimethyldimethoxysilan oder Dimethyldietho- xysilan, erhalten werden. Geeignet sind auch Oligomere der Formel (R1 2SiO)n mit n = 3 bis 8 wie Octamethylcyclotetrasilo- xan oder Hexamethylcyclotrisiloxan.
Vorzugsweise sind die Reste R2 mit in Konjugation stehenden
Elektronenpaaren Reste mit konjugierten Doppelbindungen, Reste mit in Konjugation stehenden Carbonylgruppen, Reste mit Halogen insbesondere Jod, Brom und Chlor, Schwefel-substituierte Reste, substituierte Vinylreste, Arylreste. Bevorzugt werden Phenylrest oder mit Halogen-, Cyano-, Amino- oder Hydroxy-
Resten substituierte Phenylreste, oder Arylalkylreste oder Al- kylarylreste mit jeweils Ci- bis C3-Alkylrest . Am meisten bevorzugt ist der Phenylrest.
Geeignete Silane zum Einbau der Struktureinheit a2 sind entsprechend substituierte Alkylsilane, Alkylalkoxysilane sowie Alkoxysilane, vorzugsweise jeweils mit Ci- bis C3-Alkyl- oder -Alkoxy-Rest . Bevorzugt werden Trialkoxysilane wie Phenyltri- methoxysilan und Phenyltriethoxysilan sowie Dialkoxysilane wie Methylphenyldiethoxysilan und Diphenyldiethoxysilan.
Bevorzugte Reste R3 in den Struktureinheiten a3 sind solche mit α-Methacryloxymethyl-, α-Acryloxymethyl-,γ-Acryloxypropyl- , γ-Methacryloxypropyl-, Vinyl-, Allyl-, Propenyl-, Hexenyl-, und 3-Mercaptomethyl-, 3-Mercaptoethyl- sowie 3-Mercapto- propyl-Resten .
Geeignete Silane zum Einbau der Struktureinheit a3 sind γ- Acryl- und γ-Methacryloxyalkyltri (alkoxy) silane, α-Meth- acryloxyalkyltri (alkoxy) silane, γ-Methacryloxyalkyl-di (alkoxy) silane, Vinylalkyl (dialkoxy) silane und Vinyltri (alkoxy) - silane, wobei als Alkoxygruppen beispielsweise Methoxy-, Etho- xy-, Methoxy-ethylen, Ethoxyethylen-, Methoxypropylenglyko-
lether- und Ethoxypropylenglykolether-Reste enthalten sein können. Beispiele für bevorzugte Silanmonomere sind 3-Methac- ryloxypropyltrimethoxysilan, 3-Methacryloxypropylmethyldimeth- oxysilan, Vinyltrimethoxysilan, Vinyltriethoxysilan, Vinyltri- acetoxysilan, Allyltrimethoxysilan, Hexenyltrimethoxysilan.
Bevorzugte Mercaptoalkylsilan-Gruppen enthaltende Silane sind Mercaptoethyl- und Mercaptopropylsilane wie 3-Mercaptopropyl- triethoxysilan, 3-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilan, 2-Mercapto- ethyl-trimethoxysilan, 2-Mercaptoethyl-triethoxysilan, Mercap- tomethyl-trimethoxysilan, Mercaptomethyl-triethoxysilan, und 3-Mercaptopropylmethyldimethoxysilan.
Als Struktureinheit a4) bevorzugt werden solche mit einem Ci- bis Cö-Alkylrest, am meisten bevorzugt wird der Methylrest so- wie die Struktureinheit [Si0/2] . Geeignete Silanmonomere zur Einführung der Struktureinheit [Si04/2] sind Tetraalkoxysilane wie Tetramethoxysilan und Tetraethoxysilan . Geeignete Silanmonomere zur Einführung der Struktureinheit [R1Si03/2} sind Al- kyltrialkoxysilane mit Ci- bis C3-Alkylrest und Ci- bis C3- Alkoxyrest, bevorzugt Methyl- und Methoxyrest, wie Methyltri- methoxysilan .
Geeignete Polymerisate zum Aufbau der Polymerhülle b) , sowie gegebenenfalls des Innenkerns c) , sind solche von einem oder mehreren Monomeren aus der Gruppe umfassend Vinylester von unverzweigten oder verzweigten Alkylcarbonsauren mit 1 bis 15 C- Atomen, Methacrylsaureester und Acrylsäureester von Alkoholen mit 1 bis 15 C-Atomen, Vinylaromaten, Olefine, Diene, N-hal- tige Monomere und Vinylhalogenide . Beispiele hierfür sind Vinylacetat, Vinylpropionat, Methyl (meth) acrylat, Ethyl (meth) - acrylat, i-Propyl (meth) acrylat, Butyl (meth) acrylat, Benzylac- rylat, Styrol, p-Methylstyrol, α-Methylstryrol, t-Butylstyrol, Ethylen, Butadien, Isopren, Chloropren, Acrylnitril, Methac- rylnitril, Maleinimid, N-substituiertes Maleiimid, Vinylchlo- rid. Geeignet sind auch Monomereinheiten mit Epoxy-, Hydroxy-, Carboxy- sowie Aminogruppen; beispielsweise Glycidylacrylat, Glycidylmethacrylat, Allylglycidether, Vinylglycidether, Hydroxyethyl (meth) acrylat, Aminoalkyl (meth) acrylate . Besonders
bevorzugt sind Styrol, Acrylsäureester und Methacrylsaureester von aliphatischen Alkoholen mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen. Am meisten bevorzugt ist Methylmethacrylat, oder Methylmethacrylat in Kombination mit Styrol, gegebenenfalls jeweils in Kombination mit einem oder mehreren Acrylsäureestern.
Die Polymerisate für die Polymerhülle b) , sowie gegebenenfalls den Innenkern c) können gegebenenfalls ganz oder teilweise, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des Polymerisats, aus vernetzend wirkenden Monomereinheiten aufgebaut sein. Weitere Beispiele hierfür sind vernetzend wirkenden, mehrfach ethylenisch ungesättigte Comonomere, beispielsweise Divinyladipat, Divinylben- zol, Diallylmaleat, Allylmethacrylat, Butandioldiacrylat, Diethylenglycoldi (meth) acrylat oder Triallylcyanurat . Bevor- zugt werden die vernetzenden, mehrfach ethylenisch ungesättigten Comonomere, insbesondere Diethylenglycoldi (meth) acrylat .
Am meisten bevorzugt für die Polymerhülle b) , sowie gegebenenfalls den Innenkern c) , werden unvernetzte oder teilweise ver- netzte Polymerisate.
Die Pfropfpolymerisate enthalten vorzugsweise 0.05 bis 95 Gew.-% des Silikonanteils a) , 5 bis 95 Gew.-% der Polymerhülle (n) b) , sowie gegebenenfalls 0 bis 80 Gew.-% der Innen- kern(e) c) , jeweils bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des Pfropfpolymerisats. Falls die Pfropfpolymerisate einen oder mehrere Innenkerne c) enthalten, beträgt deren Anteil von 0.05 bis 95 Gew.-%. Innenkern hat dabei die Bedeutung, dass die Polymerhülle b) einen Kern umgibt, der aus einem Polymeranteil c) und einem diesen umhüllenden Silikonanteil a) aufgebaut ist. Vorzugsweise sind die Pfropfpolymerisate aus 30 bis 95 Gew.-% Silikonanteil a) als Kern und 5 bis 70 Gew.-% Polymerhülle b) aufgebaut.
Der Silikonanteil a) enthält vorzugsweise 0.05 bis 85 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten al) , 5 bis 99 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten a2), 0.05 bis 20 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten a3) , und 0 bis 30 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten a4), jeweils bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht
des Silikonanteils a) , wobei sich die Anteile in Gew.-% jeweils auf 100 Gew.-% aufaddieren.
Die Pfropfpolymerisate haben eine mittlere Teilchengröße (Ge- wichtsmittel) von 5 nm bis 100 μm, vorzugsweise von 5 nm bis 5 μm, am meisten bevorzugt von 10 nm bis 400 nm, gemessen mit einem Coulter LS .
Die Herstellung der Pfropfpolymerisate kann mittels Emulsions- polymerisation in wässrigem Medium oder mittels Lösungspolymerisation in organischen Lösungsmitteln erfolgen. Bevorzugt wird die wässrige Emulsionspolymerisation. Diese kann bei Wahl geeigneter Ausgangsubstanzen, die gegebenenfalls auch höherkondensiert sein können, als Additionspolymerisation (Hydrosi- lylierung) in Anwesenheit von Edelmetallkatalysatoren durchgeführt werden, oder als Kondensationspolymerisation in Gegenwart von Zinnkatalysatoren, oder durch Silanhydrolyse und Kondensation .
Besonders bevorzugt ist die Silanhydrolyse und Kondensation. Dazu wird bei der Herstellung des Silikonanteils a) , sei es als Pfropfgrundlage oder beim Aufpfropfen auf einen Innenkern c) die Emulsionspolymerisation bei einer Temperatur von 30°C bis 100°C , vorzugsweise 60°C bis 95°C durchgeführt. Der pH- Wert des Ansatzes wird vorzugsweise auf einen Wert von 1 bis 4 eingestellt. Die Polymerisation kann sowohl in kontinuierlicher Fahrweise als auch diskontinuierlicher Fahrweise durchgeführt werden. Bevorzugt wird die diskontinuierliche Fahrweise, wobei besonders bevorzugt die Monomeren für den Silikonanteil a) ganz oder teilweise zudosiert werden. Bei diskontinuierlicher Herstellung der Pfropfgrundlage ist es vorteilhaft nach Ende der Dosierung der Komponenten des Silikonanteils a) noch 0.5 bis 6 Stunden nachzurühren . Zur weiteren Verbesserung der Stabilität der Polysiloxan-Emulsion wird vorzugsweise der bei der Hydrolyse freigesetzte Alkohol durch Destillation entfernt. Die einzusetzende Menge an Emulgator beträgt 0.5 bis 20.0 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 1.0 bis 3.0 Gew.-%, jeweils bezogen auf die eingesetzte Menge an Organosiliciumverbindungen.
Geeignete Emulgatoren sind Carbonsäuren mit 9 bis 20 C-Atomen, aliphatisch substituierte Benzolsulfonsäuren mit mindestens 6 C-Atomen in den aliphatischen Substituenten, aliphatisch sub- stituierte Naphthalinsulfonsäuren mit mindestens 4 C-Atomen in den aliphatischen Substituenten, aliphatische Sulfonsäuren mit mindestens 6 C-Atomen in den aliphatischen Resten, Silylalky- sulphonsäuren mit mindestens 6 C-Atomen in den Alkysubstituen- ten, aliphatisch substituierte Diphenylethersulfonsäuren mit mindestens 6 C-Atomen in den aliphatischen Resten, Alkylhydro- gensulfate mit mindestens 6 C-Atomen in den Alkylresten, quar- ternäre Ammoniumhalogenide oder -hydroxide . Alle gennanten Säuren können als solche oder gegebenenfalls im Gemisch mit ihren Salzen verwendet werden. Wenn anionische Emulgatoren eingesetzt werden, ist es vorteilhaft, solche zu verwenden, deren aliphatische Substituenten mindestens 8 C-Atome enthalten. Als anionische Emulgatoren sind aliphatisch substituierte Benzolsulfonsäuren bevorzugt. Wenn kationische Emulgatoren benutzt werden, ist es vorteilhaft Halogenide einzusetzen.
Zur Herstellung der organischen Polymerhülle b) bzw. des organischen Innenkerns c) wird mittels Emulsionspolymerisation in Gegenwart von wasserlöslichen oder monomerlöslichen Radikalinitiatoren (pfropf) polymerisiert . Geeignete Radikalinitiato- ren sind wasserlösliche Peroxoverbindungen, organische Peroxide, Hydroperoxide oder Azoverbindungen . Es kann auch mit Initiatorkombinationen aus Oxidationsmittel und Reduktionsmittel gearbeitet werden. Oxidations- und Reduktionskomponente werden dabei jeweils vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 0.01 bis 2.0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Monomermenge eingesetzt, gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz von Fe2+-Salzen. Besonders bevorzugt wird die Redoxkatalyse beispielsweise mit tert-Butylhydroperoxid und Ascorbinsäure . Die Reaktionstemperaturen sind abhängig von der Art des verwendeten Initiators und betragen von 15 °C bis 90°C, vorzugsweise 30°C bis 85°C.
Wird ein Pfropfpolymerisat mit einem oder mehreren Innenkernen c) hergestellt, werden in einem ersten Schritt die entspre-
chenden ethylenisch ungesättigten Monomere radikalisch polyme- risiert. Zu dem damit erhaltenen Polymerlatex werden dann die Komponenten des Silikonanteils a) zugegeben und unter den o- bengenanten Bedingungen auf den Innenkern c) aufgepfropft. Bei der Herstellung eines Innenkerns kann es von Vorteil sein, bei der Polymerisation speziell funktionalisierte Monomere zuzugeben, die eine chemische Kopplung mit der nachfolgenden Siliconhülle bewerkstelligen, und/oder eine Neunukleation der Siliconkomponenten teilweise oder ganz unterbinden. Die Pfrop- fung kann unter teilweiser Vorlage und Nachdosierung der oder einzelner Komponenten des Silikonanteils a) , oder nach dem Dosierverfahren ohne Vorlage durchgeführt werden. Im letzten Schritt werden auf die dadurch erhaltenen silikonhaltigen Latexpartikel die Monomere zur Ausbildung der Polymerhülle b) mittels radikalisch initiierter Polymeriisation aufgepfropft. Die Pfropfung kann auch hier wieder unter teilweiser Vorlage und Nachdosierung der oder einzelner Monomere des Polymeranteils b) , oder nach dem Dosierverfahren ohne Vorlage durchgeführt werden.
Zur Herstellung von Pfropfpolymerisaten aus einem Silikonkern a) und einer Polymerhülle b) wird zunächst der Silikonanteil a) im oben beschriebenen Emulsionspolymerisationsverfahren, in Gegenwart der genannten Emulgatoren, und vorzugsweise unter Zudosierung der Monomer-Komponenten a) polymerisiert . Anschließend werden die Monomeren zur Ausbildung der Polymerhülle b) bei den obengenannten Bedingungen radikalisch polymerisiert. Die Pfropfung kann unter teilweiser Vorlage und Nachdosierung der oder einzelner Monomere des Polymeranteils b) , o- der nach dem Dosierverfahren ohne Vorlage durchgeführt werden.
Die Partikelgröße kann in bekannter Weise durch die Wahl der Reaktionsbedingungen und der Emulgatormenge variiert werden. Auch die Vorlage eines Saatlatex ist zur Variation der Parti- kelgröße geeignet. Die Isolierung der erfindungsgemäßen
Pfropfcopolymerisate aus der Emulsion kann nach bekannten Verfahren erfolgen. Beispielsweise durch Koagulation der Latices mittels Gefrierkoagulation oder Salzzugabe oder Zugabe von po-
laren, zumindest teilweise mit Wasser mischbaren, Lösungsmitteln oder durch Sprühtrocknung.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Pfropfcopolymerisate eignen sich vor al- lern zur Modifizierung von Thermoplasten oder Duromeren, insbesondere transparente Thermoplasten. Beispiele hierfür sind (Meth) acrylsäureesterpolymerisate wie Polymethylmethacrylat, Polystyrol, Polyolefine, Polyamide, Polyvinylchlorid, Polyoxy- methylen, Polycarbonate, Epoxiharze, ungesättigte Polyester- harze. Die Modifier bewirken unter anderem verbesserte mechanische Eigenschaften wie Witterungs- und Alterungsstabilität, Temperaturstabilität, insbesondere Hochtemperaturstabilität, Schlagzähigkeit und Bruchzähigkeit, insbesondere Tieftemperaturzähigkeit, und zudem eine hohe Transparenz. Darüberhinaus verbessern die Modifier die Flammeigenschaften der Polymere. indem sie die Flammfestigkeit deutlich verbessern. Zu erwähnen ist des weiteren die verbesserte Aufnahme von Farbpigmenten und anderen Additiven, beispielsweise zum Flammschutz.
Beispiel 1
1660 g Wasser und 9.62 g Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure wurden auf 90 °C erwärmt. Innerhalb von 4 Stunden wurde eine Mischung aus 460.3 g Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxan, 250 g Phenyltriethoxysilan, 5.2 g Methyltrimethoxysilan und 32.4 g Methacryloylpro- pyltrimethoxysilan unter Rühren zudosiert. Nach Dosierende wurde der Ansatz noch weitere 4 Stunden bei 90 °C nachgerührt und anschließend neutralisiert. Nach Abdestillieren von einem Destillat erhielt man eine Silikondispersion mit einem Festgehalt von 22.5 % und einer Teilchengröße von 87 nm ( Gewichts- mittel Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
890 g der Dispersion wurden mit Wasser auf einen Feststoffgehalt von 22 % verdünnt, in einem Reaktor vorgelegt und unter Rühren auf 45°C aufgeheizt. Bei 45 °C wurden 100 g Methylmethacrylat (MMA) innerhalb von 30 Minuten zudosiert. Nach vollständiger Zugabe des MMA wurden zunächst 0.6 ml 1 %-ige wässrige Eisenammoniumsulfat-Lösung und 0.6 ml einer 2 %-igen wässrigen TrilonB-Lösung zugegeben. Daraufhin wurde 0.77 g Ascorbinsäure in 13.7 g Wasser und 0.98
g t-Butylhydroperoxid (TBHP) (40 %-ig in Wasser) in 6.4 g Wasser unter Rühren über 1.5 h dem Ansatz zugeführt. Nach Dosierende der Initiatoren wurde der Ansatz für weitere 60 Minuten bei 45°C gerührt. Mit Ascorbinsäure und t-Butylhydroperoxid wurde zum vollständigen Umsatz nachpolymerisiert . Man erhielt eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt FG von 28.7 % und einer Partikelgröße von 95 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Beispiel 2 Die Herstellung wurde analog Beispiel 1 durchgeführt, wobei während der Herstellung des Kerns kein Methyltrimethoxysilan zudosiert wurde.
Man erhielt eine Silikondispersion mit einem Festgehalt von
23.8 % und einer Teilchengröße von 85 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230). Nach Aufpfropfen von MMA erhielt man eine Dispersion mit einem
Festgehalt von 29.0 % und einer Teilchengröße von 92 nm (Dw;
Coulter LS 230) .
Beispiel 3 Die Herstellung wurde analog Beispiel 2 durchgeführt, wobei während der Herstellung des Kerns anstelle von 250 g Phenyltriethoxysilan 250 g Methylphenyldiethoxysilan zudosiert wurde . Man erhielt eine Silikondispersion mit einem Festgehalt von 21.3 % und einer Teilchengröße von 93 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230). Nach Aufpfropfen von MMA erhielt man eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt von 29.1 % und einer Teilchengröße von 98 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Beispiel 4
Die Herstellung wurde analog Beispiel 2 durchgeführt, wobei während der Herstellung des Kerns anstelle von 250 g Phenyltriethoxysilan 250 g Diphenyldiethoxysilan zudosiert wurde. Man erhielt eine Silikondispersion mit einem Festgehalt von 20.3 % und einer Teilchengröße von 90 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230). Nach Aufpfropfen von MMA erhielt man eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt von 28.6 % und einer Teilchengröße von 94 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Beispiel 5
Die Herstellung wurde analog Beispiel 1 durchgeführt, wobei während der Pfropfung noch zusätzlich 3.75 g Diethy- lenglycoldimethacrylat mit dem MMA vermischt werden und gemeinsam zudosiert wurden.
Man erhielt eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt FG von 28.7 % und einer Partikelgröße von 92 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Beispiel 6
Die Herstellung wurde analog Beispiel 1 durchgeführt, wobei die Pfropfung mit 90 g MMA und 10 g Styrol durchgeführt wurde .
Man erhielt eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt FG von 27.8 % und einer Partikelgröße von 95 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Beispiel 7
1660 g Wasser und 9.62 g Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure wurden auf
90 °C erwärmt. Innerhalb von 4 Stunden wurde eine Mischung aus 460.3 g Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxan, 250 g Phenyltriethoxysilan, 5.2 g Methyltrimethoxysilan und 19.3 g Vinyltrimethoxysi- lan unter Rühren zudosiert. Nach Dosierende wurde der Ansatz noch weitere 4 Stunden bei 90°C nachgerührt und anschließend neutralisiert. Nach Abdestillieren eines Destillats erhielt man eine Silikondispersion mit einem Festgehalt von 21.9 % und einer Teilchengröße von 92 nm ( Gewichtsmittel Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Anschließend wurde die Dispersion auf einen Feststoffgehalt von 20 Gew.-% verdünnt und auf 55°C aufgeheizt. 1000 g der Dispersion wurden mit 0.67 g konzentrierte Essigsäure und
0.00075 g Eisen (II) sulfat versetzt. Daraufhin wurde eine Lösung von 0.59 g Natriumhydroxymethylsulfinat in 8.6 g Wasser über 20 Minuten der Dispersion zudosiert. Gleichzeitig wurde mit der Dosierung von 0.6 g tert-Butylhydroperoxid (40 %-ig in Wasser) in 7.9 g Wasser begonnen. Die Mischung wurde über 180 Minuten zudosiert. Gleichzeitig wurden 150.6 g MMA über 180 Minuten zudosiert.
Nach Dosierende wurde die Dispersion für weitere 30 Minuten bei 55°C auspolymerisiert . Nach dem Abkühlen auf 30°C wurde diese über ein 250μm Sieb filtriert.
Man erhielt eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt FG von 30.1 % und einer Partikelgröße von 101 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Beispiel 8
820 g Wasser und 1.71 g Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure, 148.3 g Methylmethacrylat und 0.7 ml 1 %-ige wässrige Eisenammoniumsul- fat-Lösung wurden auf 70°C erwärmt.
Durch Zudosieren von 24 ml/h einer 1.5 %-igen wässrigen tert- Butylhydroperoxid-Lösung und von 13.5 ml/h einer 15 %-igen wässrigen Ascorbinsäure-Lösung wurde die Reaktion gestartet. Nachdem der Ansatz einen Festgehalt von > 20 % erreicht hatte, wurde eine Voremulsion aus 425.7 g Wasser, 1.71 g Dodecylben- zolsulfonsäure, 875 g Methylmethacrylat, 113 g Hydroxyethyl- methacrylat und 1.14 g Diethylenglycoldimethacrylat über 4h zudosiert. Die Initiatordosierung wurde 30 Minuten nach dem Dosierende der Voremulsion beendet. Nach dem Abkühlen wurde mit tert . -Butylhydroperoxid und Ascorbinsäure nachpolymeri- siert .
Man erhielt eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt FG von 44.0 % und einer Partikelgröße von 133 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) . 311.4 g dieser Dispersion wurden mit 1410 g Wasser verdünnt und auf 90 °C aufgeheizt. Innerhalb von 2 Stunden wurde eine Mischung aus 155 g Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxan, 96 g Phenyltriethoxysilan, 14.4 g Methyltrimethoxysilan und 10.3 g Vi- nyltrimethoxysilan unter Rühren zudosiert. 10 Minuten nach Beginn der Monomerdosierung wurde über 1.5 h eine Mischung aus 6.21 g Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure und 97 g Wasser zudosiert. Nach Dosierende der Monomerdosierung wurde der Ansatz noch weitere 4 Stunden bei 90 °C nachgerührt, abgekühlt und neutralisiert. Es wurde daraufhin durch Abdestillieren von Wasser eine Silikondispersion mit einem Festgehalt von 20.7 % und ei- ner Teilchengröße von 141 nm ( Gewichtsmittel Dw; Coulter LS 230) erhalten.
902 g der Dispersion wurden in einem Reaktor und unter Rühren auf 45°C aufgeheizt.
Bei 45°C wurden 93.5 g Methylmethacrylat (MMA) innerhalb von 30 Minuten zudosiert. Nach vollständiger Zugabe des MMA wurden zunächst 0.6 ml 1 %-ige wässrige Eisenammoniumsulfat-Lösung und 0.6 ml einer 2 %-igen wässrigen TrilonB -Lösung zugegeben. Daraufhin wurden 0.72 g Ascorbinsäure in 13.7 g Wasser und
0.93 g t-Butylhydroperoxid (TBHP) (40 %-ig in Wasser) in 6.4 g Wasser unter Rühren über 1.5 h dem Ansatz zugeführt. Nach Dosierende der Initiatoren wurde der Ansatz für weitere 60 Minuten bei 45 °C gerührt. Mit Ascorbinsäure und t-Butyl- hydroperoxid wurde zum vollständigen Umsatz nachpolymerisiert . Man erhielt eine Dispersion mit einem Festgehalt FG von 29.2 % und einer Partikelgröße von 144 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230) .
Vergleichsbeispiel 1 Die Herstellung wurde analog Beispiel 1 durchgeführt, wobei während der Herstellung des Kerns kein Phenyltriethoxysilan, und 32 g Methyltrimethoxysilan zudosiert wurden.
Man erhielt eine Silikondispersion mit einem Festgehalt von
21.7 % und einer Teilchengröße von 97 nm (Dw; Coulter LS 230). Nach Aufpfropfen von MMA erhielt man eine Dispersion mit einem
Festgehalt von 28.5 % und einer Teilchengröße von 107 nm (Dw;
Coulter LS 230) .
Anwendungstechnische Prüfung
Die erhaltenen Dispersionen wurden mit Essigsäureethylester extrahiert und im Vakuum zu einem Pulver getrocknet. 18 g des erhaltenen Pulver wurden mittels eines Colin- Meßwalzwerk in 82 g Polymethylmethacrylat (PMMA 7N der Fa. Röhm) eingearbeitet und anschließend zu 4 mm dicken Platten gepresst .
Die Schlagzähprüfung erfolgte nach DIN 53453 Prüfverfahren ISO 179-1 mit einem Probekörper von 50 x 6 x 4 mm3 ohne Kerbe. Die Bestimmung der Transparenz erfolgte an den 4 mm dicken Platten nach DIN 6174.
Die Ergebnisse sind in nachfolgender Tabelle zusammengefasst .

Claims
1. Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate, aufgebaut aus einem Silikonkern a) , der von einer oder mehreren Polymerhüllen b) umgeben ist, und gegebenenfalls zusätzlich einen oder mehrere Innenkerne c) enthält, welche vom Silikonanteil a) umgeben sind, wobei der Silikonanteil a) al) einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten aus der Gruppe umfassend die allgemeine Formel [R12Si022] enthält, und a2) von einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten aus der Gruppe umfassend die allgemeinen Formeln [R1ι-xR2 x+ιSiOR12/2] ι [R2Si03/2] und [R1 2-yR2 y+ιSiOι/2] enthält, und a3) von einer oder mehreren Struktureinheiten mit ethyle- nisch ungesättigten Gruppen oder Mercaptoalkylgruppen der allgemeinen Formel [R3 aR4 bSiOz/2] , und gegebenenfalls a4) von einer oder mehreren tri- und tetrafunktionellen Struktureinheiten der allgemeinen Formeln [RxSiθ3/2} und [Si04/2] enthält, und die Polymerhülle b) ein Polymerisat von einem oder mehreren Monomeren aus der Gruppe umfassend ethylenisch ungesättigte Monomere ist, und der Innenkern c) ein Polymerisat von einem oder mehreren Monomeren aus der Gruppe umfassend ethylenisch ungesättig- te Monomere ist, wobei R1 gleiche oder verschiedene, gegebenenfalls substituierte, Alkylreste mit 1 bis 18 C-Atomen bedeutet, R2 gleiche oder verschiedene Reste mit in Konjugation stehenden Elektronenpaaren bedeutet, R3 gleiche oder verschiedene Reste der Formeln - (CH2)m-CR5=CH2, - (CH2)m+ι-0 (C=0) -CR5=CH2 und - (CH2)m+ι-SH, bedeutet, R4 die Bedeutung von R1 oder R2 hat, R5 für H oder CH3 steht, und a = 0 bis (4-z) , b = 0 bis (3-z), m = 0 bis 6, x = 0 oder 1 ist, und y = 0 bis 2, und z = 1 bis 3.
Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Pfropfpolymerisate 0.05 bis 95 Gew.-% Silikonanteil a) als Kern und 5 bis 95 Gew.-% Polymerhülle b) enthalten.
3. Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Silikonanteil a) 0.05 bis 85 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten al) , 5 bis 99 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten a2), 0.05 bis 20 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten a3) , und 0 bis 30 Gew.-% Struktureinheiten a4), jeweils bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des Silikonanteils a) , enthält.
4. Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Struktureinheiten al) solche enthalten sind, bei denen R1 die Bedeutung einwertige, Ci- bis C4-Alkylreste hat.
5. Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Struktureinheiten a2) solche enthalten sind, bei denen R2 die Bedeutung Reste mit konjugierten Doppelbindungen, Reste mit konjugierten Car- bonylresten, Reste mit Halogen insbesondere Jod, Brom und Chlor, Schwefel-substituierte Reste, substituierte Vinyl- reste, Arylreste hat.
6. Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, da- durch gekennzeichnet, dass als Struktureinheiten a3) solche enthalten sind, mit einem oder mehreren Resten R3 aus der Gruppe enthaltend α-Methacryloxymethyl-, α-Acryloxy- methyl-,γ-Acryloxypropyl-, γ-Methacryloxypropyl-, Vinyl-, Allyl-, Propenyl-, Hexenyl-, und 3-Mercaptomethyl-, 3- Mercaptoethyl- sowie 3-Mercaptopropyl-Rest .
7. Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Struktureinheiten a4) solche enthalten sind, mit der allgemeinen Formel [R1Si03/2} und/oder [Si04/2] , wobei R1 ein Ci- bis C6-Alkylrest ist.
8. Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zum Aufbau der Polymerhülle b) , sowie gegebenenfalls des Innenkerns c) solche enthalten sind, von einem oder mehreren Monomeren aus der Gruppe umfassend Vinylester von unverzweigten oder verzweigten Alkylcarbonsauren mit 1 bis 15 C-Atomen, Methacrylsaureester und Acrylsäureester von Alkoholen mit 1 bis 15 C-Atomen, Vinylaromaten, Olefine, Diene, N-haltige Monomere, Vinyl- halogenide, und Monomere mit Epoxy-, Hydroxy-, Carboxy- sowie Aminogruppen.
9. Verfahren zur Herstellung der Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach Anspruch 1 bis 8 mittels Emulsionspolymerisation.
10. Verwendung der Polysiloxan-Pfropfpolymerisate nach An- Spruch 1 bis 8 als Additive zur Modifizierung von Thermoplasten oder Duromeren.
