Definitions
- the invention relates to a sighting device for a firearm according to the preamble of Claim 1, i. a sighting device with an electric lighting device, the by means of a switch on and off, and a retrofit kit for a Sighting device for a firearm.
- Modern hunting riflescopes have a clear trend towards models so-called reticle.
- a part of the retraction For example, the target point or a target cross, be lit depending on the application a contrast increase of the reticle, respectively a part of it, to receive.
- the source of energy for the illuminated reticle is usually one in the tower of the reticle located battery.
- On the market versions are on the device itself controlled by a combined on / off switch and brightness controller.
- a Such sighting device is known from DE 199 13 461 A1, in which case the Lighting device as a retrofit kit for a conventional riflescope with is formed unlit reticle.
- the invention has the object underlying, in a visor device with electrically illuminated reticle operation to improve the reticle lighting in terms of comfort and safety.
- the invention provides, in a sighting device for a firearm with a Illuminating the switch to turn it on and off the same way and in or to be arranged on the sighting device so that it is under normal conditions of attachment Visor device on the firearm by the operation of a to offset the Firearm in readiness for fire in or on the same actuator provided is inevitably operated to turn on the lighting device.
- This will on the one hand ensures that the reticle is switched on safely when the User of the weapon decides to deliver a targeted shot. On the other hand, it is unnecessary itself to keep the reticle constantly switched on, since switching on at stop-go can not be forgotten.
- the switch also also designed and in or is arranged on the sighting device so that it is under proper attachment the sighting device on the firearm by a displacement of the firearm except Fire readiness is inevitably operated to turn off the lighting device. This eliminates the need for manually switching off the reticle in a Waiver of an intended shot and after the delivery of one or more shots, if and after that the readiness to fire is lifted.
- the switch is operated without contact, as this is the Production of an operative connection between an actuator of the firearm and a switch arranged in or on the sighting facilitated in a special way.
- a non-contact switch comes in the first place by the force of a magnetic field closable reed contact into consideration.
- an electronic semiconductor switch which has an optical, inductive or capacitive proximity sensor and associated with this Evaluation circuit is controlled. In this case, however, is a certain power consumption can not be avoided by the evaluation circuit. Such a power consumption can be acceptable if it is very low compared to the power consumption of the light source can be held.
- the principle of the invention in principle quite also using a conventional, by mechanical power transmission Actuatable switch can be realized.
- the actuators for producing or lifting the fire readiness of a Firearm are always located directly on the weapon itself, while the switch to Turning on and off the reticle preferably in or on the sighting device is arranged, should the switch or an actuator of the same at Proper attachment of the sighting device to the firearm on those Side of the sighting device, which faces the firearm. This favors both a non-contact, as well as a purely mechanical coupling with a Actuator said kind on the weapon.
- the inventive principle can except in the form of a finished sighting device also be realized by a retrofit kit, which is intended to be at a Visor device with a reticle a standard provided on / off switch of the reticle, which separately from the firearm to operate manually is to replace by a switch of the aforementioned kind, which by a for Displacement of the firearm in readiness for fire in or on the same foreseen Actuator is inevitably operated to turn on the reticle.
- a retrofit kit can with existing high-quality sighting devices with Illuminated reticle the operation of reticle lighting in terms of comfort and safety be significantly improved under relatively little effort.
- Fig. 1 shows a sighting device 1 in the form of a riflescope mounted on a firearm. 2 is attached in the form of a hunting rifle by means of a mounting 3 of known type.
- the Sighting device 1 includes a reticle, for example in the form of a reticule, which is partially illuminated, for example, by a luminous point in the middle.
- These Lighting is generated by a light source 4, which is a light emitting diode (LED) acts.
- Possibilities for the optical insertion of a luminous spot at defined Position in the field of view of a riflescope are known and not of interest here.
- Power supply of the light source 4 is a battery 5.
- the light source 4 through the battery 5 is a switch 6 in the form of a reed contact connected. All belonging to this circuit elements are in the sighting device 1 installed or attached to it. It is understood that the representation of said circuit in Fig. 1 is schematic.
- a reed contact is an electrical switch that consists of two electrical and magnetic conductive contact tongues in a glass tube with inert gas filling, which through the Generation of an external magnetic field, in particular by approximation of a Permanent magnets, can be brought into contact with each other to form a circuit close. When canceling the magnetic field, the reeds remove again from each other and interrupt the circuit. A reed contact is thus a non-contact actuatable switch.
- the firearm 2 has a trigger mechanism whose spring by a on the Arranged top side of the handle 7, so-called cocking cock 8 stretched and can be relaxed.
- the trigger mechanism of the weapon 2 relaxed and can be stretched by the cocking slide 8 in the direction of the arrow. 9 pushed forward.
- the cocking slide 8 then remains in its new position locked, but can be solved from her to the trigger mechanism of the weapon 2 relax, moving back to the position shown.
- a relaxation is also done by triggering two shots by means of the two trigger levers 10,
- the principle is just as applicable to a single-shot weapon.
- the cocking slide 8 approaches the switch 6 during clamping. If this is a reed contact, then he can by approaching the cocking slide 8 are closed when in or on the cocking slide 8 a Permanent magnet sufficient strength is attached or the cocking slide 8 at least partly itself is designed as such. This has the consequence that the switch 6 at Clamping the trigger mechanism of the weapon 2, which inevitably a firing must precede, closed and the light source 4 to illuminate the reticle is turned on. The user of the weapon 2 can turn on the lights so Do not forget and has the reticle certainly available when in Stop goes. On the other hand, when hunting, the weapon 2 is only stretched when a firing will start, so that the reticle is not unnecessary for a long time in Operation is.
- the cocking slide 8 moves away from the switch 6, whereby the Circuit of the light source 4 is interrupted. So it can not be forgotten that Turn off the lighting of the reticle when it is no longer needed.
- the switch 6 is actuable by mechanical power transmission, i. that it is a conventional mechanical probe is an actuator in the form of one of the Sighting device 1 from projecting down into the path of movement of the cocking slide 8 Has levers.
- the arrangement of the switch 6 in the longitudinal direction of Visor device and the deflection of the lever so on the range of motion of the Tension slide 8 be tuned that the cocking slide 8 in his cocked Trigger mechanism locked, front end position the lever of the button so far deflects that the switch 6 in this case, the circuit to the light source 4 closes.
- FIG. 1 generally apply to the combination of a Sighting device 1, which has an illuminable reticle, with a firearm 2.
- the light source 4 the battery 5 and of an actuator of the weapon. 2 actuatable switch 6 be structurally integrated into the sighting device 1 from the outset, as outlined in Fig. 1.
- many high quality sights are already available with illuminable reticle in use, in which the lighting is still purely manual on and off must be turned off, which is associated with the disadvantages indicated above. There is therefore a need to provide such existing sighting devices with regard to their To be able to retrofit operation according to the invention.
- There is another here Aspect of the present invention, to the below with reference to Figures 2 and 3 will be received.
- Fig. 2 is a sighting device 11 in the form of a rifle scope with reticle represented by the installation of a retrofit kit in the context of the invention was modified.
- the retrofit kit has a housing whose main components a Upper housing part 12 and a lower housing part 13 are, which in the assembled state engage around a portion of the cylindrical main housing 14 of the sighting device 11, and although in the range of a tower attached thereto perpendicular to the axis 15, in the standard the battery for power supply and a knob to turn on and off the Leuchtab Betters is housed.
- the battery and the knob will be in the conversion the sighting device 11 removed using the retrofit kit according to the invention and replaced by other components, in detail from the exploded view in Fig. 3 can be seen.
- the contact ring 16 is also characterized by a likewise annular outer insulator 19th isolated from the tower 15.
- the contact ring 16 and the contact pin 17 contact on its underside each contact electrodes, which within the main housing 14 with the two terminals of a light source 4 to illuminate the reticle, not in Fig. 3 is shown and corresponds to that of Fig. 1, are connected.
- the upper housing part 12th is provided with two contact electrodes, which in the assembled state, the Contact ring 16 and the contact pin 17 touch and so a power supply to the within the main housing 14 existing part of the circuit of the Leuchtab Fixs enable. These two contact electrodes are hidden in the illustration of FIG. 3.
- One of the two contact ring 16 and the contact pin 17 assigned Contact electrodes are connected directly to a contact electrode, which is located in the area of the Battery compartment 20 a pole of the battery 5 contacted.
- the other of the two contact ring 16 and the contact pin 17 associated contact electrodes is connected to a contact socket on the underside of the battery compartment 20 opposite leg of the Housing top 12 connected.
- the battery 5 corresponds that of Fig. 1.
- the battery compartment 20 is closed after inserting the battery 5 by means of a Battery compartment cover 24. Further, for closing the top of the housing upper part 12th a housing cover 25 is provided.
- the Housing base 13 For attachment to the housing upper part 12, the Housing base 13 preferably four holes 26, which in the assembled state aligned with threaded holes in the upper housing part 12 to a screw connection between the two housing parts 12 and 13 to allow. This will be the two Housing parts 12 and 13 also attached to the main housing 14 of the sighting device 11.
- the Reticle of the sighting device 11 is turned on only when it actually is needed, and this is done by a handle, the anyway before a firing must be executed.
- This brings the advantage of a long battery life as well a gain in security in the handling of the firearm just before a firing with himself.
- the conversion is quick and without interfering with the delicate appearance of a Riflescope executable and gives a sighting device with standard manual too operating reticle have the same advantages as the realization of the present invention in the construction of a sighting device provides.
