Definitions

  • the elasticity properties of knitted fabrics can be influenced in a targeted manner by the insertion of weft threads. While knits usually have a high transverse elasticity, knitted fabrics can be made with at least partially lower transverse strain by the weft insert. This is utilized, for example, in medical knits such as bandages, compression stockings and the like.
  • weft yarn guides are required for the weft insertion, which lay the weft thread leading to the center of the knitting loop on the course.
  • Standard thread guides put the knitting thread against it ... follow the center of the knitting loop into the needle hooks. The introduction of movement thus takes place at a weft thread guide elsewhere than with a standard thread guide.
  • the weft insert therefore requires special equipment of the flat knitting machine with such special thread guides in the prior art methods.
  • the present invention has for its object to propose a method for producing a knitted fabric with weft insertion, in which the weft insert can be made even with einflambaigen crocheted without much additional time.
  • the WO 02/086215 A1 discloses a method for knitting a knitted fabric with a knitting machine, the knitting machine having retaining elements for holding a weft thread on the needle bed. A weft thread is placed on the needle bed. Then the weft thread is fixed on one or more needles of the needle bed. The weft thread is held on the needle bed by the retaining elements.
  • an endless flat belt is known as a drive belt or as a conveyor belt, which contains in the direction of a spirally laid, straight or slightly wavy tension element in the form of a thread or wire and by mesh and at least partially by a binder has a cross connection.
  • the spirals of the tension element are inserted into a tubular knit in right-left binding in non-adjacent wales as a handle.
  • the object is achieved by a method for producing a knitted fabric having the features of claim 1.
  • the weft thread is not inserted on the course, but in the hooks of individual, selected needles in the inventive method.
  • the fixing of the weft thread is done with each needle in the hook he is inserted, and with the adjacent mesh picture edges.
  • the number of fixations across the width of the knitted fabric can be selected according to the knitting requirements of the knitted fabric to be produced.
  • the insert of the weft thread can be done both in empty needles and in mesh-bearing needles.
  • An empty needle that has picked up a weft thread can additionally pick up a stitch from the opposite needle bed.
  • the selection of the fixing positions of the weft thread over the knit width is thereby very flexible. It can also be used by knitting row to knitting row repeatedly different needles for insertion of the weft.
  • the method according to the invention has the advantage that it is not necessary to transfer stitches in front of the weft insert, neither for single-surface nor for double-sided knitted fabrics.
  • the weft insert is therefore a process that takes little knitting time.
  • the adjacent needles can be raised over the needle bottom at least so far that the needle bottoms can slide over the weft.
  • This lifting of the adjacent to the needles with pickled weft needles on the needle bottom can be done for example by a knitting lock the flat knitting machine or via switchable cams or casseroles on the needle bottom. But even a lifting of the needles only by the fixed weft thread is possible.
  • the weft thread can be pressed down so that the adjacent to the needles with pickled weft needles with their needle bottoms slide over the weft yarn and thus can easily form stitches.
  • hold-down plates can be used for pressing down the weft thread. But even by applying appropriate knitting techniques for the production of the knitted fabric, the weft thread can be pushed so far down that the movement of the adjacent to the needles with pickled weft needles is not hindered by the weft.
  • the weft insert can be performed by means of a standard thread guide.
  • the insert of the weft thread takes place at the same point, that is trailing to the center of the knitting, as in the yarn guides with the knitting threads or the.
  • the knitting lock representation off Fig. 1 illustrates the weft insert in the prior art methods of making weft insert wefts on a flat knitting machine.
  • the knitting lock 10 moves in the direction of arrow X.
  • the line SM marks the middle of the knitting loop. It is a weft guide SFF and a normal thread guide NFF provided.
  • the weft yarn guide SFF places the weft yarn at a distance V leading to the middle of the knitting cam SM on the course not shown here. At this position, the sprouting of needles 30 by the knitting cam 10 is just starting.
  • the weft yarn inserted in this position is covered by the underside of the spiked knitting needles and therefore can not be caught by a needle hook.
  • Fig. 2 now illustrates the insertion of a weft thread 5 in the hook 31 of a needle 3.
  • the needle 3 is in the needle bed 1 in the direction of arrow Y outwardly and inwardly movable.
  • Fig. 2 shows the position of the needle 3 after the insertion of the weft thread 5 and retraction of the needle 3 until the weft thread 5 abuts a stitch pattern edge 21 of a stitch pattern 2 adjacent to the stitch 3. In this position, the weft 5 is fixed exactly.
  • a stitchless needle 3 shows is in Fig. 3 illustrated that the needle 3 before the insertion of the weft thread 5 in her needle hook 31 can already wear a mesh 6 of the knitted fabric.
  • the weft 5 is simply inserted in addition to the mesh 6 in the needle hook 31.
  • Fig. 4 shows in the same view as the FIGS. 2 and 3 a needle 3, which has taken over the insertion of the weft thread 5 still a stitch 6 'from the opposite needle bed.
  • the weft thread 5 is here behind the stitch 6 ', whereby the weft thread 5 is tied to the outside of the knitted fabric as soon as the stitch 6' is knitted.
  • the weft thread tied to the fabric inside as soon as the stitch 6 is knitted, since here the weft 5 is in front of the stitch 6.
  • Fig. 5 clarified in the view according to Fig. 2 in that a needle 3 ', which is arranged adjacent to the needle 3 with the weft thread 5 inserted in its needle hook 31, lifts off the needle base 11 of the needle bed 1 in order to be able to slide with its needle underside 32 over the weft thread 5.
  • This lifting of the needle 3 ' can be done for example by the knitting lock 10 or via switchable cams or casseroles on the needle base 11.
  • the lifting movement of the needle can also take place without targeted control of the needle in that its rounded needle hook 31 'runs on the fixed weft thread 5.
  • Another way of enabling the needle 3 'to slide over the weft thread 5 is to press the weft thread 5 down the needle 3 laterally.
  • hold-down boards can be used.
  • by using appropriate knitting techniques, such a depression of the weft thread 5 is possible.
