Definitions
- the invention relates to a locking device for locking a tank well cover, according to the preamble of claim 1, a method for mounting a locking device, according to the preamble of claim 12, and an arrangement of a locking device on a vehicle, according to the preamble of claim 13.
- Locking devices of the type mentioned here are known (DE 196 12 098 AI). They serve to lock a movable fuel tank cover, for example a fuel filler flap, in a closed position in which the fuel tank cover covers an assembly opening in a body part of a vehicle.
- the known locking device has a locking element for blocking the tank well cover, an actuator for moving the locking element and a guide body for the locking element fastened to a wall of the mounting opening.
- the actuator and the locking element are arranged behind a side wall of the vehicle, the actuator being located at a location which is inaccessible from the outside via the assembly opening and being fastened to a wheel house wall. Access to the actuator or its installation location is only possible from another location.
- the assembly of the locking device is correspondingly time-consuming and therefore costly.
- the locking device is characterized in that it is designed as a preassembled, modular unit and can be fastened in the edge region of an assembly opening provided in a body part.
- the locking device is thus assembled before it is installed on the vehicle, so that it does not take much time to attach it to the vehicle itself, since the locking device is installed as one part and the mounting location on the vehicle is accessible via the mounting opening.
- Another advantage is the improved ergonomics of the assembly process compared to that in known locking devices.
- the locking device can be designed such that the locking element interacts directly with a counter element arranged on or formed on the tank recess cover in order to lock the tank recess cover arranged in the closed position against opening.
- the locking device has an engagement opening for a counter-element cooperating with the locking element on the tank well cover.
- the counter element engages in the engaging opening when the tank recess cover is arranged in the closed position and can be blocked therein by means of the locking element.
- the engaging opening ensures an exact alignment of the counter element relative to the locking element and thus improves the functional reliability of the locking device.
- the locking device comprises a tank trough cover lifting device which NEN push-push mechanism, the principle of which is used, for example, in a similar form for retracting and extending ballpoint refills.
- NEN push-push mechanism the principle of which is used, for example, in a similar form for retracting and extending ballpoint refills.
- the structure and function of such a mechanism are generally known, so that in the following only this mode of operation, but not its construction, will be discussed in more detail. It is assumed that the tank well cover is designed as a pivotable tank flap and is in the closed position.
- the push-push mechanism is unlocked and supports the pivoting of the fuel filler flap in the direction of its open position by a certain angular range. This means that the fuel filler flap is raised at least to the extent that it can be gripped by an operator and easily opened.
- the fuel filler flap When the fuel filler flap is pivoted from the open position into the closed position, the fuel filler flap is pivoted beyond its closed position, which is also referred to as "overpressing", as a result of which the push-push mechanism is locked.
- the fuel tank cover lifting device is particularly advantageous if the fuel filler flap is flush with the outside of the vehicle in its closed position and there is no possibility of engagement.
- An exemplary embodiment of the locking device is particularly preferred, in which the actuator and the tank recess cover lifting device are each designed as a modular unit. These are connected to one another before assembly of the locking device into a single structural unit.
- the advantage here is that in the case of a defective structural unit, it is not necessary to replace both structural units.
- the two building blocks are preferably detachably connected to each other, for example screwed, so 'that they are easily separable from each other.
- an embodiment of the locking device is preferred, which is characterized by at least one Retaining flange slide-on retaining groove, wherein the retaining flange is located in or at the mounting opening.
- This configuration ensures an exact, reproducible attachment of the locking device to the body part.
- the holding flange and the holding groove are preferably matched to one another in such a way that when the locking device is pushed on, a clamping connection is formed which fixes the locking device in a fixed position on the body part.
- Further fastening means can preferably be dispensed with, that is to say the groove-flange connection described above is the only fastening point between the locking device and the body part before the tank recess is inserted into the mounting opening and fastened therein.
- the holding groove is provided on a housing of the tank recess cover lifting device.
- the housing is preferably made of plastic, so that the retaining groove can be formed in a simple manner during the manufacture of the housing.
- the tank recess cover lifting device has at least two holding webs which are arranged at a distance from one another, each of the holding webs having a holding groove.
- the retaining webs are preferably formed in one piece with the housing.
- An embodiment of the locking device is also preferred, which is characterized in that, in the assembled state, the tank recess, that is to say a section of the tank recess, engages in the space between the holding webs. whereby an exact alignment of the tank recess with respect to the assembly opening can be achieved.
- the tank well itself is attached either to the tank well lifting device or to the body part or to the tank well lifting device and the body part.
- the tank recess and the locking device are preferably fixed to the body part with one and the same fastening means. For this purpose, screws can be used, for example, which are attached at a suitable point within the assembly opening.
- an embodiment of the locking device is preferred in which a guide for the locking element is provided on the actuator.
- the locking element is preferably held captive on the actuator, but can be moved back and forth. If the locking element performs a linear movement when it is displaced between the release and blocking positions, the guide can be formed in a simple form by a through opening, which is preferably provided in a section of a housing of the actuator.
- a method with the features of claim 12 is also proposed to achieve the object.
- This provides that, in a first step, the fully assembled locking device is inserted from the outside into the assembly opening and connected to the body part in a force-fitting and / or form-fitting manner, for example as described above. It is also conceivable that the locking device is locked to the body part by means of at least one clip connection.
- the tank trough is then inserted from the outside into the assembly opening and attached to the tank rrvuldenableckungs announced and / or the body part attached.
- the object of the invention also relates to the arrangement of the locking device according to the invention on the vehicle according to claim 13, in which the locking device is arranged in the installed state in an area accessible from the outside via the assembly opening.

- the body part 1 can be formed, for example, by a vehicle side wall and has an assembly opening 3, which serves to receive a locking device 5 shown in FIG. 2 and a tank recess 7 shown in FIG. 3.
- a tank flap (not shown in the figures), which can be pivoted about an axis between a closed position and an open position and serves to cover the assembly opening 3, is arranged on the cup-shaped tank recess 7, which is made of plastic, for example.
- a counter element provided on the tank flap passes through a through opening 9 in the tank recess 7, which will be discussed in more detail below.
- the bearing point for the tank flap is formed by a thickening 11 projecting beyond a side wall of the tank recess 7.
- a circumferential flange 13 is formed, with which the tank recess 7, in the installed state, bears against a flange 15 provided at the assembly opening 3 and offset inwards from the outer surface of the body part 1.
- the tank recess 7 has an opening 17 on its bottom, which in the installed state of the tank recess 7 is penetrated by a fuel filler neck which projects into the tank recess 7.
- the tank flap is assigned an over-center spring mechanism, not shown, which holds the tank flap in the closed or open position.
- the structure and function of the over-center spring mechanism is generally known, so that it will not be discussed in more detail here.
- the exemplary embodiment of the locking device 5 shown in FIGS. 5A to 5C consists of two separable structural units, namely an actuator 19 for displacing a locking element 20 and a tank recess cover lifting device 21, which are connected to one another with the aid of fastening means 23 to form a modular structural unit.
- the actuator 19 comprises a housing 25, preferably made of plastic, on which a guide 27 for the pin-shaped locking element 20 is provided.
- the guide 27 is formed by a section 29 molded onto the housing 25 and having a guide opening in which the locking element 20 is guided.
- the locking element 20 can be moved back and forth in the direction of a double arrow 31 between a release position and a blocking position, which is realized by means of a suitable motor, for example a linear motor, accommodated in the housing 25.
- the locking element can also be displaced by means of a piston-cylinder unit or the like.
- the actuator 19 is controlled by a central locking system of the motor vehicle, the locking element 20 being shifted into the locked position when the motor vehicle is closed and in the release position when the motor vehicle is open.
- the tank well cover lifting device 21 comprises a housing 33, preferably made of plastic, which is provided with a A shaft-like engaging opening 35 is provided, into which the tank flap counter element engages when the flap is arranged in the closed position.
- a push-push mechanism cooperating with the tank flap counter element is arranged, as described above.
- In the housing 33 there is also a through opening which extends transversely to the direction of entry of the counter element of the fuel filler flap into the engagement opening 35 and which opens laterally into the engagement opening 35.
- the free end of the locking element 20 engages in the through opening. In the locked position, the locking element 20 protrudes into the engaging opening 35 to such an extent that the tank flap counter-element is blocked from moving out of the engaging opening 35, so that the tank flap is blocked in the closed position and cannot be pivoted in the open position.
- two holding webs 37 and 39 which are arranged at a distance from one another, are formed on the housing 33 and run essentially parallel to one another and a holding groove 41 is formed at the end region thereof.
- the holding grooves 41 can be pushed onto holding flanges 43 on the body part 1.
- the holding flanges 43 are formed on an edge cutout 45 of the mounting opening 3.
- the holding webs 37, 39 are each provided with a hole 47 which, when the locking device 5 is installed, that is to say when the holding grooves 41 are pushed onto the holding flanges 43, are aligned with through holes 49 provided on the body part 1.
- the tank recess 7 also has through holes 51 which are aligned with the through holes 49 and the holes 47 when the tank recess 7 is inserted into the mounting opening 3.
- through holes 51 which are aligned with the through holes 49 and the holes 47 when the tank recess 7 is inserted into the mounting opening 3.
- self-tapping screws 53 are used, which pass through the through holes 49, 51 and are screwed into the holes 47 in the housing 33.
- the screws 53 are indicated in FIG. 4B with a broken line.
- the locking device 5 which is designed as a modular unit, is introduced from the outside into the mounting opening 3 and pushed with its holding grooves 41 onto the holding flanges 43 at the edge region of the mounting opening 3, as indicated by an arrow 55 in FIG align the through holes 49 in the body part 1.
- the locking device 5 is shown in FIG. 4A in the fully pushed-in or pushed-on position. It can be seen that the locking device 5 - as seen by an observer looking from the outside at the assembly opening 3 - is largely covered by the body part 1 and only part of the tank recess cover lifting device 21 can be seen.
- the tank recess 7 In a second step, the tank recess 7, with a possibly already pre-assembled tank flap, is now pivoted from the outside into the assembly opening 3, the flange 15 of which is brought into contact with the flange 13 at the assembly opening 13.
- Figure 4B the tank recess 7 is shown in the properly inserted position. It can be seen that the tank recess 7 in the region of its passage opening 9, which is in the aligned position with the engagement opening 35 of the tank recess cover lifting device 21, has a shape which is adapted to the free space between the holding webs 37, 39 and which engages in the free space, whereby the tank recess 7 is aligned in the desired manner in the mounting opening 3 and secured against rotation.
- the tank recess 7 is designed such that it essentially completely covers the part of the locking device 5 arranged in the mounting opening 3, so that only the part of the locking device 5 arranged with the through opening 9 in the overlapping position can be seen.
- the tank recess 7 and the locking device 5 are finally screwed to the body part 1 by means of the screws 53.
- the actuator 19 fastened to the tank body cover lifting device 21 does not have its own fastening point with the body part 1, but is held on the body part 1 exclusively by the tank body cover lifting device 21 which is directly connected to the body part 1.
- connection of the actuator 19 to the central locking system and to the power supply of the motor vehicle takes place — depending on the position of the connections on the actuator 19 and the cable guide — before the locking device 5 is attached to the body part 1 or after, the connections and the cable guide preferably in this way are arranged or selected so that the connection from the outside is possible via the assembly opening.
- FIG. 4C shows the inside of the body part 1 with the locking device 5 and the tank recess 7 installed in the assembly opening 3. It can be seen that the locking device 5 with the housing 25 of the actuator 19 rests against or supports the inside of the body part 1, as a result of which rattling noises are avoided.
