  • Such artillery gun is in a training as a howitzer in the European patent EP 0 331 980B1 described.
  • This Panzerhaubitze has a carrier vehicle, which is designed as a tracked vehicle, with a mounted behind the vehicle center rotatable tower on which a heavy weapon is pivotally mounted in elevation.
  • Within the vehicle projectile magazines are arranged in the region of the vehicle center, in which the projectiles are mounted perpendicular to the vehicle floor, leaving a passage space extending substantially in the vehicle longitudinal direction.
  • the bullet feed device has a pivotable mounted on the trunnion of the weapon, independently of the weapon in or parallel to the elevation plane movable projectile transfer arm, at the free end in the area behind the weapon, a charging tray and a piecing device are arranged.
  • the loading tray is aligned in the raised position of the projectile transfer arm in alignment with the tube axis of the weapon and in the lowered position of the projectile transfer arm in the vertical direction.
  • Further parts of the automatic bullet feed device are arranged in the vehicle interior, namely a bullet transporter with a transport arm, at the end of a pivotable gripping device is arranged, and a stand-behind bowl arranged behind it, which is guided displaceably in a transport rail and can be arranged in a transfer position parallel to the charging tray.
  • the projectiles are removed by means of the projectile transporter from a projectile magazine and conveyed under rotation and alignment on the ready shell and the charging tray in the area behind the weapon end and raised to the loading position. Further details of the known artillery gun are described in the document cited above.
  • PzH 2000 well-known and introduced artillery gun has a total mass of 49t and is not divisible for transport in such a way that the individual parts have a maximum transport mass of 27t and thus can be transported with medium-sized aircraft.
