Definitions
- the invention relates to a full-caliber projectile with a cylindrical guide area and an ogive-shaped projectile tip.
- large-caliber armored projectiles have an ogive shape due to their relatively long shape trained projectile tip is too short a guide length (usually the length of the projectile area led through the weapon barrel), so that the corresponding projectile often poor stabilization within the weapon barrel and thus an unfavorable one Leaving ballistics and a bad hit pattern.
- a spin-stabilized special projectile is already known from US Pat. No. 3,769,912 ogive-shaped projectile tip is significantly longer than the cylindrical one Guide area.
- this document already describes proposed a segmented in the circumferential direction on the projectile tip, at the Inner wall of the gun barrel supporting guide ring with three bowl-shaped Fasten the guide ring segments.
- the guide ring segments remain in their specified position at the top of the projectile and, after the projectile has left the gun barrel, through on it centrifugal forces acting laterally.
- the invention has for its object to provide a full-caliber projectile in which simple way a better stabilization of the projectile within the gun barrel and thus better ballistics and accuracy than comparable floors is achieved.
- the invention is essentially based on the idea of an in Circumferential direction segmented guide ring, the outer diameter of which is smaller than that Inner diameter of the weapon barrel is to be fastened in such a way that the guide ring segments when a predetermined launch acceleration occurs in the corresponding one Detach the gun barrel from the projectile and, due to the dynamic pressure, axially to the cylindrical one Leading area be pushed onto the floor until the radially spaced guide ring segments on the inner wall of the barrel and support it on the floor. The guide ring then extends the one hand cylindrical guide area and on the other hand reduces the guide play in this Range practically at zero.
- the adjacent guide ring segments are connected in such a way that after detaching from the projectile can move in the radial direction to the outside that it is radial But no axial displacement of the guide ring segments against each other can come.
- one of the adjacent guide ring segments at least one tongue-shaped extension extending in the circumferential direction has a positive fit in a recess of the adjacent guide ring segment intervenes. It is preferably provided that in each of the guide ring segments one end with a tongue-shaped extension and the other End with a tongue-like extension of the adjacent guide ring segment adapted recess is provided.
- the guide ring For fastening the guide ring to the projectile, it has proven to be advantageous if the guide ring extends radially inwards and is provided with predetermined breaking points Fastening parts that non-positively in corresponding radial grooves of the projectile intervention.
- the guide ring can also be glued to the projectile, welded or be connected with the help of encircling straps.
- FIG. 1 denotes a full-caliber wing-stabilized projectile, which is in a is only indicated by dashed weapon barrel 2.
- FIG. 2 With 3 are the cargo space and designated 4 the caliber tube.
- the projectile 1 has a cylindrical guide area 5 which is connected to the rear side with a Sealing tape 6 is provided, and an ogive-shaped projectile tip 7.
- a segmented guide ring in the circumferential direction 8 made of a deformable plastic with three cup-shaped Guide ring segments 9 attached, the outer diameter of which is smaller than the inner diameter the weapon barrel 2.
- the attachment of the guide ring 8 on the floor 1 takes place over several, each evenly distributed over the circumference radially inwardly extending fasteners 10 (Fig.2), which in corresponding Engage grooves 11 of the projectile 1 in a force-locking manner (snap into place).
- the fasteners 10 are provided with predetermined breaking points 12.
- each of the guide ring segments 9 this is one end, viewed in the circumferential direction 13 with a tongue-shaped extension 14 and the other end 15 with one the tongue-shaped extension 14 of the adjacent guide ring segment 9 adapted Provide recess 16 (Fig.3).
- the guide ring 8 has an air pocket on its side facing the projectile tip 7 17 on (Fig.2).
- the projectile 1 settles in the caliber tube 4 moving. If the launch acceleration reaches a predetermined value, the tearing the predetermined breaking points 12.
- the guide ring segments 9 shift in the further Pipe passage of the projectile 1 relative to this to the rear and between the Storey 1 and the inner wall 18 of the barrel 2 clamped. This will be the leading game almost zero and the guide length of the projectile 1 by the axial length of the Guide ring extended.
- the guide ring does not necessarily need one deformable plastic. Rather, another is deformable Material such as Lead, brass or copper can be used.
- deformable Material such as Lead, brass or copper can be used.
- materials are the high densities, because they also accelerate Dead load percentage and the load due to axial forces on the parts to be carried increased. Plastic should therefore because of its low density and low manufacturing costs (Molded part) are preferably used.
