Definitions
- the invention is in the field of conveyor technology and relates to a device according to the preamble of the first claim.
- the device is used for continuous Collection of flat objects for serial production of stacks and for further processing of the manufactured stacks.
- piles of sheets, folded sheets, signatures or other printed products by providing a series of feed points, by creating Stack essentially continuously in succession along this series of Feed points are promoted and by each emerging at each feed point A printed product is added to the stack.
- the device for promotion the resulting stack has, for example, a plurality of consecutively arranged essentially V-shaped pockets with upward facing openings extending transversely to the conveying direction, into which the Print products are introduced with an edge first.
- One is already leaning emerging stack in the pocket against one of the pocket walls and is pressed against this wall with suitable means, if necessary, so that the material to be added Product can be added to the stack safely and precisely.
- Purposes can also be arranged one behind the other, L-shaped stacking pads one support surface and one foot element are provided, the support surfaces also extend transversely to the conveying direction and opposite the vertical are advantageously aligned obliquely. Be on these contact surfaces the supplied printed products are advantageously guided on the leading edge laid out, as for example in the Swiss patent application No. 2525/00 (P1814) by the same applicant.
- Publication EP-0908408 proposes such collation bags, when the stack has been formed therein, during a continuous conveying open at the bottom so that the stacks by gravity into a lower pocket which lower pocket adjoins the collation pocket.
- the walls of the lower pockets are movable so that the one in one Bag fallen stacks can be clamped between these walls, so that when you open this bag, the bottom of the stack, or all the bottom edges the flat objects gathered in the stack become freely accessible, while the stack is held in the bag.
- the stack page exposed in this way can then be roughened, trimmed and / or with, for example, for a binding Glue are treated. After this treatment, the stack is removed from the pocket walls released and specifically dropped.
- EP-0712736 also compiles printed products described in essentially continuously conveyed pockets.
- the fully educated one Stack is then pinched and held by the pocket walls in such a way that the bag can be opened at the bottom and the position of the stack relative to the pocket walls remains unchanged.
- the bag used has a Hollow bar designed base part that moved down to open the bag becomes. According to this publication, the product edges exposed in this way, which form the bottom of the stack, for binding the stack or book block further treated for what the stack including the pressing pocket walls in Collets is introduced.
- the object of the invention is now a device for continuous Gathering flat objects into stacks and for further processing the stack to create with what device excellent edges of the stacked, flat objects aligned when stacked and finished Stacks are made accessible for further processing and with which device the stacks with the exposed edge areas of further processing be promoted.
- the device according to the invention should be known Devices that serve the same purpose, in particular distinguish them by that it’s more universal and easier to use, and that it’s significantly easier to use different requirements for the exposure of the edge areas of the stacked, flat objects is customizable.
- the device according to the invention has a plurality in a manner known per se of essentially continuously conveyed in the conveying direction Stack pads on. These batch runs are funded continuously, first for the formation of stacks by collating along one Row of feed points, then through an exposure area and from there to further processing.
- the stacking supports are essentially oriented transversely to the conveying direction, Support surfaces and a foot element at the lower end of the support surface.
- the base element is operatively connected to the contact surface in such a way that it has a pressing force can be pressed against this bearing surface and that it is by means of suitable control means against the pressing force or after switching off the pressing force from the support surface is removable and from this distant position back into the press position can be fired.
- the flat objects on the in this Phase advantageously created oblique contact surface and its lower edges are on top of each other by the foot element, which is pressed against the support surface aligned.
- the contact surface and foot element together bear the resulting and the finished stack in a defined position.
- the last feed point is followed by an exposure area in the direction of conveyance which the stack supports are funded essentially the same as along the row from feed points.
- the exposure area also makes stack support means promoted and synchronized with the stacking pads and aligned with them, the conveying path of the stack supports and the conveying path of the stack support means are designed such that the stack support means are at the entrance of the exposure area are arranged directly under the stacking pads and during the Funding through the exposure area further down from the stacking pads remove.
- the foot elements are where the stack support means move directly under the stack supports, that is, on Entrance of the exposure area, distanced from the contact surfaces, so that the on the contact surfaces of the stack lying against the bottom and, always sliding against the support surfaces, slide onto the stack support.
- the stacks are in contact with the support surfaces and through the stack support means supported supported until due to the divergence of the conveyance paths from stacking and stack support means have slipped so far that the lower edges of the stacked flat objects the lower edges of the contact surfaces by a predetermined Surpass dimensions.
- a second control means is provided through which the foot elements from their position distanced from the support surface be released back into their press position.
- the Stacking supports With the stack clamped between the support surface and the foot element, the Stacking supports further promoted, whereby their spatial position can now also be changed is, for example, by pivoting the stack supports relative to the conveyor path or by redirecting the conveyor path.
- Objects can be aligned with one another, projecting over the support surfaces and originally against downward edge areas for further processing be optimally oriented.
- the stacking pads can very easily be between the contact surface and the base element protruding stack part with a suitable means and then for stack release the foot element again in its position distanced from the support surface to be brought.
- V-shaped collation pockets with two each other in the conveying direction have opposite pocket walls.
- One of the pocket walls then represents the contact surface and the foot element closes the distance between the pocket walls towards the bottom.
- stack from a Plurality of flat objects can be created and processed can of course also position individual objects by clamping held and processed in this position, so "stack" that only one include a single flat object.
- FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the device according to the invention in the exposure area 1, through which the stacking supports 2 move essentially continuously (conveying direction F), in essentially the same spatial position in which they were also conveyed along the row of the feed points.
- the stack supports 2 each have a support surface 3 and a foot element 4.
- the stack supports 2 are, for example, as shown, coupled equidistantly to a conveying element (dash-dotted line 5), but it can also be an element which can be moved essentially independently of one another in the conveying direction F.
- the support surfaces 3 of the stack supports 2 extend essentially transversely to the conveying direction F (perpendicular to the paper plane of the figure) and are arranged obliquely in the conveying direction, for example in such a way that their lower edges follow the upper edges.
- the stacking supports 2 conveyed to the exposure area 1 each carry a stack 6, taking the flat objects of the stack 6 before conveying the stacking pad through the exposure area 1 shown in FIG. 1 during the conveyance along a number of feed points in a manner known per se on the stacking supports 2 were filed.
- Stack support means 10 are provided such that they are at the entrance of the exposure area 1 are positioned immediately below the lower edges of the contact surfaces 3 and during their conveyance through the exposure area 1 at an acute angle be moved away from these.
- the stack support means 10 are, for example from individual stack supports 11, which are connected to a conveyor element 12 with a self-contained Orbit are coupled.
- a first Control means (not shown) effective, through whose action the foot elements 4th of stacked supports 2 conveyed past into their distance from the support surface 3 Position. As a result, the one resting on the support surface 3 slips Stack 6 on the stack support 11.
- the stack 6 slips through the divergence of the conveying paths of stacking supports 2 and stacking supports 11 further down and protrudes beyond the support surface 3 more and more.
- the stack supports 11 are in an area following the position B from the Stacking supports 2 moved away, whereby the lower edge regions 13 of the stacked, flat objects that protrude from the contact surface 3 and foot element 4 for one Further processing of the stacks become freely accessible.
- the stack supports 2 are very simple Device parts are very close to each other along the conveyor path can be promoted. It can also be seen that the stacking pads 2, if they keep a stack 6 clamped between contact surfaces 3 and foot elements 4, for example by swiveling parallel to the conveying path F and / or by deflection the conveying path can be brought into a wide variety of spatial positions, whereby the exposed, originally lower edge regions 13 of the stacked, flat objects, for example for processing or for handing over another conveyor can be made optimally accessible.
- FIG. 1 it can be seen from FIG. 1 that it is very simple to implement the inventive method Device for different handling of different stacks adjust. It does not matter in the broadest limits how big (also how different large), how thick (also how different thickness) and how numerous the stacked, are flat objects. As long as it is essentially straight forward Have and as long as these edge areas of all objects to be stacked the device can be used unchanged.
- the position B or the second control means are moved along the conveying path F. (Arrows C). But it can also be the angle between the conveyor path F Stacking supports 2 and the conveying path of the stacking supports 11 can be set.
- the stack supports 11 shown in FIG. 1 extend parallel to the support surfaces 3 and the foot elements 4 essentially transversely to the conveying direction F and have a bottom surface that is advantageously perpendicular to the support surfaces 6 is aligned. With such stack supports 11 can be ensured that the stack 6 is given a rectangular shape. In cases where such Perpendicularity is not relevant, a simple conveyor belt can also Take over the function of the individual stack supports 11 shown in FIG. 1.
- FIG. 2 shows essentially the same device as FIG. 1. While the device according to FIG. 1 is operated in a mode in which the foot elements 4 of all stacking supports 2 conveyed past are actuated at point A, according to FIG. 2 this is only for selected stacking supports 2 the case, for example only for batch runs that contain an error-free batch 6. Stack pads 2 that are not selected are conveyed through the exposure area 1 in an unchanged state.
- control means For controlling the operating mode according to FIG. 1, for example, can be used as control means stationary control links can be provided with the foot elements 4 of the stack supports 2 arranged control rollers cooperate.
- active control means which are based on selectively actuate the foot elements 4 acting control elements.
- Figures 3 to 5 show in more detail the operation of an exemplary embodiment a stacking support 2 in a device such as that shown in FIGS and 2 is shown more schematically. They are the lower areas of stacking pads 2, namely in a configuration for collating (FIG. 3), for exposing the lower edge areas 13 of the stacked, flat objects or for discharging a stack ( Figure 4) and for further processing the Stack 6 or the exposed edge areas 13 ( Figure 5).
- a lower part of the contact surface 3 is visible in each case, which is on both sides by side pieces 20 (one visible) is limited, and one abutting the bearing surface 3 Stack 6.
- the foot element 4 is pivotally attached to the side pieces 20 and is with a tension spring biased between side piece 20 and foot element 4 21 driven against the bearing surface 3.
- the foot element 4 also has one Control roller 22 on the foot element 4 from a control link 23 against the Spring force of the tension spring 21 in a more or less distant from the support surface 3 Bring position and is stable in such a position.
- the control backdrop 23 is necessary in areas of the conveyor path ( Figure 4) in which the foot elements 4 are to be held in a position distanced from the support surface 3.
- the control link 23 may be missing in areas of the conveying path (FIGS. 3 and 5) in which the foot element 4 with full spring force against the bearing surface 3 or against a stack 6 lying against the support surface 3 is to be pulled.
- FIG. 3 shows the foot element 4 in the collation configuration in which it passes through the force of the tension spring 21 is driven when there is no stack 6 between the bearing surface 3 and foot element 4 is positioned.
- the foot element 4 closes in this Position close to the support surface 3, such that it is applied to the support surface 3, can support flat objects.
- FIG. 4 shows the stacking support 2 in the exposure or discharge configuration in which it is conveyed through the exposure region, that is to say in the region of the conveying path between the positions A and B shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, and through a discharge region in which a stack is released from its position clamped between the support surface 3 and the base element 4.
- the foot element 4 is distanced from the support surface 3 in such a way that the lower end of the support surface 3 is free and flat objects lying against the support surface 3 slip thereon or can be removed between the support surface 3 and the foot element 4. In this position, the foot element 4 is guided by the control link 23 during the conveyance and is pressed against the tension spring 21 by the spring force.
- FIG. 5 shows the stack support 2 in the further processing configuration into which it is brought when the stack 6 lying on the support surface 3 and supported by the stack support means (not shown) has slipped by a predetermined amount over the support surface 3 (point B in FIG Figures 1 and 2).
- the foot element 4 is pressed against the stack 6 by the tension spring 21 and holds it firmly.
- tension spring 21 instead of the tension spring 21, other means can also be used for the foot element 4 to be pressed against the contact surface. This function can, for example also taken over by the guide rollers 22 and a corresponding control link become. Control links are suitable for the operating mode shown in FIG not as a tax resource. Then there are active ones, for example the tension spring 21 to provide selectively notching control means.
- FIGS. 6 and 7 show two further exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention.
- the stack supports 2 according to FIG. 6 have extensions 30 on the support surface 3 and foot element 4 which run essentially parallel to one another towards the bottom and thus form a kind of flat-nose pliers by means of which a stack 6 can be held even better than with the embodiment according to FIGS 2 is the case.
- FIG. 7 shows, very schematically, a further exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention, in which support surfaces 3 and foot elements 4 form parts of essentially V-shaped collation pockets 2 '.
- the foot elements 4 are articulated to a pocket wall 31 opposite each of the support surface 3 and are driven into a “closed” position with pressing means, not shown, and are controlled with suitable control means against the pressing force or after switching off the pressing force into an “open” position.
- FIGS. 8 to 12 show the embodiment of the device according to the invention as shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, specifically in a conveying area downstream of the exposure area.
- the stacks 6 are further processed, attacking the exposed edge areas 13 of the flat objects.
- This further processing is to be understood in a very broad sense of the word, it should not only include steps that change these edge regions (for example binding a stack of printed products) but also may be pure handling (for example transfer to a further conveying device) or both ,
- FIG. 8 shows a stack handling which essentially consists in reversing the exposure of the lower edge regions 13, if necessary after processing these edge regions 13.
- the stack supports 2 hold stacks 6 pressed between the support surfaces 3 and foot elements 4 when they are fed to this area, in which a further stack support means 10 'is provided with stack supports 11' conveyed parallel to the stack supports 2.
- the height of these stack supports 11 ' can be adjusted relative to a conveyor element 12' to such an extent that they can push stack 6 back onto the support surface 3.
- a first control means are provided at a point A and at a point B a second control means, analogous to the release area, these control means, as already described in connection with FIG. 1, can act on the foot elements 4 of all stack supports 2 conveyed past or only on the foot elements 4 of a selection of the stacking supports 2 (as shown in FIG. 8).
- stack supports 11 'and foot elements 4 are designed such that they can interlock.
- the stack supports 11 'thus point for example along gaps across the conveying direction or are narrower than the stacked ones Objects and the foot elements 4 consist of at least two foot element parts, aligned with these gaps or to the side of the stack supports 11 'are arranged.
- FIGS. 9 to 11 show transfer areas in which stacks 6, which are clamped by stacking supports 2, are transferred to a further conveying means 40 between support surfaces 3 and foot elements 4.
- a first control means is to be provided at a point A of the conveying path F, with which the foot elements 4 of stack supports 2 conveyed past are brought into the position distanced from the support surface 3.
- the receiving conveying means 40 has grippers 41, which uncover the Grab edge areas 13 before the stacking pads 2 through point A be promoted.
- the receiving funding has 40 pockets 42, in which cover sheets 43 can be presented. The released Edge areas 13 are inserted into these pockets as much as possible before the stacking pads 2 pass the point A, where the stack 6 by the control the foot elements 4 are released and dropped into the pockets.
- the stack 6 has the support surfaces 3 as far protrude as far as possible, whereby the free fall can be kept as short as possible.
- the exposure area 1 and the transfer area essentially fall together.
- the stack 6 are already at the exposure of the bottom Edge areas 13 in the exposure area 1 when slipping over the contact surfaces 3 inserted in clamping means 50 of a further conveying means 40 and by these gripped by clamping after the exposure area and then by dismiss the foot elements 4.
- FIG. 12 shows further processing in the region of the exposed edge regions 13 of stacks 6 held clamped in stack supports 2.
- These stacks 6, which are directed downwards at least in the exposure region, are deflected 60 of the conveying path F of the stack supports 2 and by correspondingly pivoting the stack supports 2 brought into a vertical position relative to this conveyor path, in which the exposed edge regions 13 are directed upwards.
- the stack supports 2 are conveyed through a processing area and a discharge area for further processing of the stacks 6.
- folded cover sheets 43 are opened and placed over the exposed edge areas.
- the exposed edge areas 13 with the cover sheets 43 placed over them are gripped by suitable grippers and released by the foot elements 4 (point A).
- the exposed edge areas can, if necessary roughened or trimmed and treated with glue after hanging up the cover sheet 43 are pressed accordingly. It is also conceivable to do more than put on a cover sheet 43 and the plurality of cover sheets before discharge to staple the stack 6 together.
