- the total length the rails 20, 22 dimensioned such that they with their lower telescopic sections 20c, 22c into the water (not shown in the figures) is sufficient plunge.
- the platform 10 is then lifted with the aid of the carriages 24, 26 from its upper position (see FIGS. 5 to 7) along the rails 20, 22 into one lower position at the free end of the lower telescopic sections 20c, 22c Rails 20, 22 move in which the platform 10 dips into the water. This State is shown in Figure 8.
- FIG. 8 shows an example of a seaplane 40 that is already on the water has landed and is in a waiting position behind the stern of the ship.
- the Seaplane 40 is now floating on the underwater surface platform 10 is located and received by it, as in FIG. 9 is shown.
- the seaplane 40 is removed from the water by the platform 10 lifted by the platform 10 moving upwards along the rails 20, 22 becomes.
- a suitable drive device is provided along the rails 20, 22 is, which is however not shown in detail in the figures.
- This Drive device expediently has a cable drive, which is below of the upper outer deck 4 is installed inside the hull and over from him driven rope drums winds and unwinds ropes, at the free ends of which Carriage 24, 26 are attached.
- the seaplane 40 taken up by the platform 10 now becomes the upper one Outer deck 4 transported by the platform 10 to the top of the Rails 20, 22 is moved where they are in alignment with the surface of the outer deck 4; the platform 10 is already in this position in FIG 7 shown.
- the transport device can be returned to its idle state by now the steps previously described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 7 and shown there essentially run in reverse order. So be first the telescopic rails 20, 22 retracted. Then the Transom flap 8 opened and already takes over in its upper position located platform 10 by being released from the carriage 24, 26 from the Transom flap in its stowed position and from this in its closed position is taken away. Then the slides 24, 26 are folded together and pivoted back the rails 20, 22 already retracted to the minimum length, before the facing flaps 12, 13 are closed, so that now the shown in Figure 2 is restored. If the stair sections 16, 17 are not otherwise needed, they are also folded back again, so that the initial state according to FIG. 1 is then reached again in the the entire device is completely covered optically.
